A method of identifying a problem with a mobile application, comprising an emulation application initiating execution of a mobile application, the emulation application providing an execution environment that simulates a portable communication device in which the mobile application executes, wherein the emulation application is stored in a memory and executed by a processor of a computer; the emulation application detecting that the mobile application has self-reinstalled twice in succession; and the emulation application, based on detection of successive reinstallations, transmitting notification to an application store that the mobile application has self-reinstalled twice in succession.

System and method for automated identification of an application out-of-synchronization condition

A base station almanac (BSA) stores directional forward link calibration (FLC) values that correct for differences between the listed locations of base station antennas and the actual locations of the antennas. Each directional FLC value is specific to wireless signals that are transmitted from a particular base station antenna and propagate toward a particular receiving area. A mobile station operating in a receiving area measures a wireless signal from a base station antenna located outside of the receiving area to obtain a signal measurement. The location of the mobile station is determined by applying a positioning algorithm that uses the signal measurement corrected by the directional FLC value for that particular combination of base station antenna and receiving area.

Method and system for determining locations of mobile stations using directional corrections

A method for monitoring performance of a message-delivery system, such as an SMS delivery system for instance. According to the method described, key performance metrics will be collected from one or more message-routers and will be monitored over time to determine when a threshold problem condition occurs with the message-delivery system. In response to detecting a threshold problem condition such as (i) a threshold measure of difference in router-input and router-output, (ii) a threshold measure of change in message-queue length, and/or (iii) a threshold measure of message delivery attempts per message, an alert will then be generated, in order to inform network administrators or systems of a potential issue and to allow prompt remedial action to be taken.

A hand-operated device for the precise positioning of electronic components on a printed circuit board (PCB) to assist in the assembly, repair or rework of PCB's. The device has a base ring with three adjustable-length legs which rest on or straddle the PCB. An x-ring is slidably mounted to the base ring and is moved in the direction of the x-axis by an actuator. A y-ring is slidably mounted to the x-ring and is moved in the direction of the y-axis by an actuator. A .theta.-ring is removably mounted on the y-ring and can rotate about the z-axis. A hub, which houses the z-actuator, is supported within the .theta.-ring by one or more arms. A grasping device, such as a vacuum gripper, is mounted on the z-actuator. In use, the device is positioned over a bonding site on the PCB, and the z-.theta. assembly is lifted off of the x-y base. An electronic component, such as an integrated circuit (IC), is picked up with the vacuum gripper and the z-.theta. assembly is replaced on the x-y base. The position of the IC is adjusted with the x- and y-actuators and the orientation is adjusted by rotating the .theta.-ring so that it is precisely positioned over the bonding site. The IC is then lowered onto the bonding site and released. The device is also adaptable to hold optical devices and processing tools, such as soldering or desoldering tools.
