An example system includes one or more sleeves, each configured for attachment to a leg and comprising a pressure sensor, an accelerometer and a magnetometer. A processor processes sensor signals from the pressure sensor, the accelerometer and the magnetometer to estimate action (A) and work (W) using event detections of peak stance and valley swing events associated with leg movement, for optimizing energy efficiency for maintaining a balance of the body leaning forward in a gravity pull-down force, with the periodic upward force of the sequential foot-thrusts with the toes.

Systems and methods for sensing balanced-action for improving mammal work-track efficiency

An example sensor band configured for attachment to a calf of a mammal and used in measuring track and balance motion of the mammal includes one or more first sensors for sensing muscle circumferential pressure at multiple positions; one or more second sensors for sensing Earth's magnetic field; and one or more third sensors for sensing Earth's gravitational field.

System and method for measuring balance and track motion in mammals

An example geolocation system for mounting on a mammal incorporates simple sensing sleeves on the calves of the body support members, combined with an accelerometer based gravity direction and force sensing at the center of mass of the body. The example system is connected to a digital processing unit and a battery power supply to integrate the sensing to determine kinetic and potential energy of the body locomotion over time in a method that integrates out the aperiodic motion of the body about the center of mass, and uses the residual motion to measure the center of mass locomotion from a known point.

Geolocation system and method for determining mammal locomotion movement

One embodiment of the present invention includes interrogating a location along a face of a person with multiple wavelengths of electromagnetic radiation. Signals are established corresponding to detection of the wavelengths reflected from the location. A determination is made as to whether a disguising material covers at least a part of the face based on a difference in range to the location indicated by these signals. Alternatively, the signals may correspond to reflections by different portions of an eye of the person and a determination is made regarding the location of one or more eyes of the person based on the signals. In one particular nonlimiting form, a multispectral, three-dimensional signature of facial features is registered to eye location that may include the iris, nose, chin, mouth, check or the like for facial recognition/identification.
