Fluid level probe mounting unit

A sensor mount is disclosed for use in a fluid volume measurement structure forming part of a fluid measurement system for feeding fluid in controlled amounts. The sensor mount includes a tubular body having first and second sensor mounting sockets whereby functionally different fluid sensors may be mounted to the tubular body. As fluid enters or exits the tubular body, a fluid sensor mounted in one or the other of the sensor sockets produces a signal to be used by a control portion of a fluid measurement system. The first sensor socket is provided as a through hole whereby a sensor may be mounted in fluid contact with the interior of the tubular body. The second sensor socket is provided as a blind hole for receiving a capacitance sensor out of fluid contact with fluids within the tubular body.

Multi-functional level probe mounting device

A system (10) and methods of use for determining the level of a body of liquid (16), e.g., a chemical, in a storage tank, irrespective of the specific gravity of that liquid. The system (10) comprises a pressure transducer (22) and an elongated tubular, flexible sheath (24). An operating liquid (26) of lower specific gravity than the body of liquid (16) is disposed within the sheath (24). The transducer (22) is also disposed within the sheath adjacent the bottom end. The sheath (24) is immersed in the body of liquid (16) so that its top end (28) is above the liquid's surface. The pressure applied to the sheath (24) by the liquid (16) causes the sheath to collapse to a minimal internal cross sectional area, whereupon the operating liquid migrates up the sheath to form a very thin column (44). The operating liquid forming a pool (46) is located at the top of the very thin column (44). Thus, the sheath expands outward adjacent the surface (16A) of the body of liquid to retain that pool. The pressure transducer provides an electrical signal representing the pressure applied thereto by the combined height of the operating liquid column (44) and the operating liquid pool (46). This signal is used to calculate the height of the body of liquid (16). An air vent (52) is provided to vent the transducer to compensate for atmospheric pressure changes.

Submersible liquid level measuring system and method of use

In a treatment system for feeding a liquid from a tank having an outlet by a controllable pump operated cyclically, an automatic calibration/measuring system. The system is arranged for determining the volume of liquid pumped each cycle of operation by the pump and comprises a hollow sight glass having first and second sensors coupled thereto. The sight glass is in fluid communication with the tank. The first sensor is arranged to provide a first signal when the level of liquid in the container reaches it while the second sensor, which is located below the first sensor, provides a second signal when the level of liquid in the container reaches it. The container defines a predetermined volume between the first and second sensors. The system also includes a controller to determine the actual number of cycles of operation of the pump required to pump the predetermined volume and if that number has deviated from a preestablished number. If so, the pump is controlled in response to the detected deviation. The system also enables the quantity of liquid in the tank and its specific gravity to be determined.

Proportional chemical feeding system

An apparatus and method for mixing water and a water-soluble emulsion polymer by providing the optimum amount of mixing energy required for the polymer to effectively dissolve the polymer in the water without causing the polymer molecules to shear into smaller polymer molecules. The apparatus includes a pump means, a static mixing means and a mixing chamber means. A first circulation means connects the pump means to the mixing chamber means. A second circulation means connects the pump means to the static mixing means and further connects the static mixing means the mixing chamber means. A third circulation means connects the static mixing means to the mixing chamber means. Additionally, a flow control means selectively circulates a combined stream of the water and the polymer alternatively through the first circulation means, the second circulation means or the third circulation means. The method of using this apparatus is also disclosed.
