In certain embodiments, a pile bridge assembly includes first and second pile brackets for rigid mounting onto first and second piles of a pier; a cap bracket sub-assembly for rigid mounting onto a beam of the pier supported by the first and second piles; a first compression arm rotatably connected (i) at a first end to the first pile bracket and (ii) at a second end to the cap bracket sub-assembly; and a second compression arm rotatably connected (i) at a first end to the second pile bracket and (ii) at a second end to the cap bracket sub-assembly. The pile bridge assembly restores the load capacity of damaged or degraded piers. The cap bracket sub-assembly can include first and second cap brackets, and the pile bridge assembly can further include one or more tension-managing straps.

Pile bridge assembly

In certain embodiments, a cap repair assembly includes first and second pile brackets for rigid mounting onto first and second piles of a pier; a cap beam for rigid mounting onto super-structure of the pier; first and second cap beam plates for rigid mounting onto the cap beam at different ends of the cap beam; first and second compression arms rotatably connected (i) at first ends to the first and second pile brackets and (ii) at second ends to the first and second cap beam plates. The cap repair assembly restores the load capacity of damaged or degraded piers. The cap repair assembly can further include one or more steel banding straps.

Cap repair assembly

A vehicle barrier apparatus includes a horizontal barrier component, a vertical barrier component, at least one rigid stabilizer beam having two end surfaces and at least one elongated side surface. One end of the stabilizer beam is affixed to the vertical barrier component. The elongated side surface of the stabilizer beam is affixed to the horizontal barrier component to prevent rotational movement of the vertical barrier component. A lower surface of the horizontal barrier component is a friction-enhanced surface which creates a sliding friction interface upon contact of a moving vehicle with the vertical barrier component.

Expedient barrier apparatus

A transportable modular flotation system with sections incorporating a decked supporting structure that is buoyed by heavy duty flotation tubes. The sections are coupled together with pre-tensioned ropes, straps or cables of High Modulus Fiber. The system is suitable for off-loading items from cargo ships in small harbors and onto remote beaches. One embodiment is a heavy-duty lightweight modular causeway system (LMCS&#x2122;) that is rapidly deployable and recoverable from a Joint High Speed Vessel (JHSV). Other embodiments of the present invention may be deployable floating piers or docks; modular commercial causeways, and expedient means to cross environmentally sensitive areas such as marshes or wetlands without employing major earthmoving equipment. Embodiments may also be used for wet-gap crossings, such as currently served by modular bridges, such as the Army Dry Support Bridge (DSB).
