The present invention provides a widely variable and yet precisely controlled system for metering the flow of fuel to an engine component. The present invention utilizes a plurality of solenoid activated injector valves to meter fuel into an output plenum where the fuel is accumulated to avoid pressure pulses and pressurized if necessary for introduction to the combustion chamber of a gas turbine engine. This system is particularly well suited to high pressure engine systems such as helicopter jet or turbo shaft engines.

An electrostatographic imaging apparatus and method for cleaning remnant toner. An intermediate transfer member (ITM) is in transfer relation to a primary image-forming member to transfer the toner image from the primary image-forming member to the ITM. The ITM then transfers the image to a receiver sheet. A cleaning brush including plural individual brush fibers in engagement with the ITM removes residual toner from the ITM. The fibers each include an electrically conductive core and a surrounding substantially nonconductive annular portion. An electrically conductive backing secures the fibers and is adapted to electrically induce a potential from the backing to the cores of the fibers. The backing is substantially electrically insulated from the electrically conductive cores of the fibers. An electrical potential is established on the backing which is induced upon the cores of the fibers to attract remnant toner from the ITM to the brush. A detoning member includes an electrically conductive surface that contacts the brush fibers.

A fiber cleaning brush includes plural individual conductive brush fibers in engagement with the ITM to remove residual toner and carrier particles from the ITM. A detoning member includes an electrically conductive surface that contacts the brush fibers and is electrically biased to electrostatically remove toner particles from the fiber brush. The detoning member includes magnets for attracting remnant carrier to the detoning roller and for attracting a skive blade of magnetic material into engagement with the detoning roller.

A development station for an electrostatographic reproduction apparatus wherein pigmented marking particles from a particulate material mixture of pigmented marking particles and magnetic carrier particles are utilized to develop latent image charge patterns on a dielectric member. The development station has a housing adapted to be located adjacent to a dielectric member. The housing defines a reservoir for a particulate material mixture, and an opening facing such dielectric member. A mixer for mixing particulate material, a magnetic brush for applying pigmented marking particles from such particulate material mixture to a latent image charge pattern to develop such charge pattern, and a transport for transporting such particulate material from the mixer to the magnetic brush are located within the housing. A device is provided for collecting contaminating airborne particulate material contamination. The contamination collecting device includes an elongated tube, located externally of the housing. The tube defines an opening communicating through the wall of the tube with the interior thereof. Passages are defined by the housing between the magnetic brush and the mixer, communicating with the opening of the tube, and a vacuum is supplied to the interior of the tube to substantially prevent contamination of the reproduction apparatus and its environment.

A process controller is responsive to the first signal and adjusts density of a subsequently formed toned patch area; and a controller is responsive to a second signal related to density of a toned patch area and the patch area after cleaning for adjusting an adjustable parameter of the cleaning station to adjust cleaning performance of the cleaning station.

A sensor measures the toner applying capability of a toning station. It includes a transparent conductive rotatable member which is rotated through a developer applying zone and a sensing position remote from the developer applying zone. Toner is applied by developer in the station to the exterior surface of the rotatable member as controlled by a bias applied to the rotatable member. The applied toner is sensed by a transmission densitometer at the sensing position. The output can be used to control toner concentration, an original charge on an image member or a development bias applied to the toner station.

A toner monitor which measures the magnetic permeability of the developer mix uses a coil around the toner monitor so that when energized with a DC current, the coil acts as an electromagnet to align the developer mix in a consistent fashion at the monitor. The permeability of the mix is measured and the DC current to the coil is inhibited allows the measured sample to fall away or be moved away from the sensor by mixing augers or paddles. When current to the coil is once again restored, another sample is captured and aligned with the monitor. Information concerning the permeability of the developer mix is used to control replenishment of the toner.
