Filter unit

A filter unit includes a body portion that receives a water filter. An engaging portion is coupled to the body portion. A bypass actuator rotates relative to the engaging portion to rotationally and axially operate a bypass valve of a fluid manifold. The bypass actuator drives axial engagement of the engaging portion with a valve assembly of the fluid manifold. The bypass actuator extends through the body portion and the engaging portion.

Filter assembly

A split air conditioner has a cabinet with a fan and evaporator for mounting within a structure. The cabinet includes one or more movable dampers or movable filters positioned in the flow path between the air inlet and the outlet for selectively filtering contaminants from the air to provide a greater or lesser degree of filtration of the air. The movable filters include sliding and/or pivot mounting structure which may accommodate stacking multiple filters with different filtering characteristics. The system may operate in a filtering only mode with no cooling, a cooling only mode with no filtering, or a combination of cooling and selective filtering.

The ice maker and ice cube storage bin can be positioned in an insulated module in the refrigerator compartment opposite an ice dispenser positioned on the refrigerator compartment door. The insulated module is maintained at temperatures below 0&#xb0; C. for forming and storing ice cubes. Air ducts from the evaporator compartment or an auxiliary ice maker evaporator can be provided to maintain below 0&#xb0; C. temperatures in the insulated module.

An ice making and dispensing system suitable for making and dispensing ice through the refrigerator compartment door of a bottom freezer refrigerator. The ice maker is positioned in an insulated sub-compartment in the refrigerator compartment maintained at a temperature below 0&#xb0; C. An insulated ice cube storage bin and ice dispenser are positioned on the refrigerator compartment door for dispensing ice cubes through the face of the refrigerator compartment door.

An ice making and dispensing system suitable for making and dispensing ice through the refrigerator compartment door of a bottom freezer refrigerator. The bottom freezer refrigerator includes an automatic ice maker in an insulated module positioned outside the freezer compartment. The insulated module can be mounted to the exterior of the refrigerator cabinet. An ice cube storage bin can be provided in the insulated compartment or on the inside of the refrigerator compartment door. A passage can connect the insulated module with the ice dispenser on the refrigerator compartment door.

An ice making and dispensing system suitable for making and dispensing ice through the refrigerator compartment door of a bottom freezer refrigerator. The ice maker and ice cube storage bin are located in an insulated sub-compartment in the refrigerator compartment. The insulated sub-compartment is maintained below 0&#xb0; C. for forming and storing ice cubes. The insulated sub-compartment can be positioned adjacent the freezer compartment and can be cooled by below 0&#xb0; C. air from the freezer compartment or from an auxiliary evaporator.
