The subject invention pertains to a method and apparatus for an orientation independent compressor. The subject compressor can be part of a vapor compression cycle system, and can use one or more of a variety of working fluids, including, but not limited to, refrigerants such as r-134a, r-22, CO, and NH. Embodiments of the compressor can utilize positive displacement apparatus to compress the vapor. In a specific embodiment, the compressor can incorporate an oil-lubricated rotary lobed type positive displacement compressor. In a further specific embodiment, the working fluid vapor can be a refrigerant, such as r-134a, incorporating entrained oil, such as miscible lubricating oils. An example of such a miscible lubricating oil that can be used is polyester (POE) oil.

Method and apparatus for orientation independent compression

A method of testing power-on reset circuitry in an integrated circuit comprises establishing the a first state of the integrated circuit that is different from a normal reset state of the circuit, lowering the VCC power supply voltage from a normal high operating level Vto a specified lower level Vthen raising it back to the normal high level, then determining whether or not the integrated circuit has assumed the reset state. The testing can repeated with a plurality of lower VCC levels Vand under a variety of operating conditions to characterize resetting parameters and to designate pass/fail results for individual chips. If an AC voltage detector is part of the power-on reset circuitry, then it can tested separately, and DC testing occurs with very slow ramp rates for lowering and raising the power supply voltage.

Circuit reset testing methods

A method for creating and electronically distributing a new release of a software program in a computer system having a number of processors is disclosed. One of the software programs is modified. An impact analysis is performed to identify modules to be modified as a result of the modification. A new release of the software program is built by modifying the identified modules. Typically, the new release is built in one or more repositories. The new release is stored in a central storage device. It is determined which processors require a copy of the new release, and the new release is electronically down-loaded from the central storage device to each processor. A down-load complete message is issued at each processor upon completion of the download. An install order is transmitted to each of the processors to which the new release was down-loaded. The new release is installed at each of these processors. The new release can be installed concurrently at each processor. The previous version can be reinstalled if, for example, errors or problems occur.

Software distribution system to build and distribute a software release

A computer-aided software engineering facility and method for creating computer source code and executable computer programs that are distributable across multiple hardware environments or platforms. An object oriented modeling system is linked with modules of a computer programming language and other system components to quickly and efficiently design computer source code and executable computer modules that have a high degree of reusability. The modules and models are stored in a centralized storage area and distributed to the various hardware elements that comprise the computer system.

Computer-aided software engineering facility

Disclosed are cell-type ignition devices for Otto cycle internal combustion engines, said devices having cylindrical cells with end orifices communicating with the engine combustion chamber. The devices include housing and mounting means for thermally isolating the cell from the cooled engine wall and the ambient atmosphere. Critical ratios for cell dimensions are disclosed. Some embodiments are equipped with supplementary glow or spark ignition means for starting and warm-up. In some embodiments, sleeves or external protubances on the cell wall are employed to regulate ignition timing by controlling heat transfer.
