According to one example, a system for a knee arthroplasty that can optionally comprise: a femoral prosthesis having a joint facing surface and an opposing bone facing surface, wherein the femoral prosthesis has one or more attachment elements at or adjacent the bone facing surface; and one or more features selectively attachable with the femoral prosthesis via the one or more attachment elements, wherein the one or more features comprise one of a box, a stem, or a combination of the box and the stem.

Knee prosthesis system and method

An orthopaedic knee prosthesis includes a femoral component which exhibits enhanced articular features, minimizes removal of healthy bone stock from the distal femur, and minimizes the impact of the prosthesis on adjacent soft tissues of the knee.

Various embodiments of femoral trochlea prostheses useable in a knee joint. The knee joint includes a patella and a distal femur with a femoral trochlea, or patello-femoral groove. In one embodiment, a femoral trochlea prosthesis includes a distal tail. In another embodiment, a femoral trochlea prosthesis includes a wing or extension portion. In yet another embodiment, a set of femoral trochlea prostheses includes a plurality of prostheses having differing thicknesses. In still another embodiment, a femoral trochlea prosthesis includes a porous medium on various portions of the prosthesis.

Femoral trochlea prostheses

A mobile bearing knee prosthesis apparatus includes a tibial plate. The tibial plate includes a medial lobe and a lateral lobe conjoined in a dividing plane. The apparatus further includes a tibio-femoral insert and a stud-like protuberance extending from the tibial plate into the tibio-femoral insert. The stud-like protuberance includes a protuberance sidewall positioned in the tibio-femoral insert. The protuberance sidewall is bisected by the dividing plane and includes a pair of opposing eccentric convex arcuate portions, and the tibio-femoral insert is moveable relative to the tibial plate about an axis medially disposed from the dividing plane. A mobile bearing knee prosthesis apparatus includes a tibial plate and a tibio-femoral insert coupled to the tibial plate. The tibio-femoral insert includes a generally posteriorly positioned chamfered superior surface and defines a generally posteriorly positioned generally U-shaped space bounded at least in part by the chamfered surface.

Femoral prosthesis

A milling guide for connection to an exposed end of a bone for guiding a milling device along the bone to mill away portions of the bone for accommodation of an orthopaedic implant. The guide includes a plurality of walls positioned in intersecting planes, each of the walls including a slot therein for capturing a milling device. A recess in the travel path of the milling device permits the milling device to rotate from the plane of one wall to that of another wall whereby the milling device is not removed from said milling guide during the cutting of intersecting planes on the bone.

A set of surgical products which includes an attachment mechanism for modular surgical products. The set includes a plurality of first components and a plurality of second components. One of the first components and one of the second components are to be selected for engagement with each other. The components each include an indexing means including a key on the first components and a corresponding slot on the second components for mating with the key. The orientations of the keys and slots vary, so that only first components having a key orientation that is similar to and aligns with the slot orientation of a second component will properly mate together and so that first components will not properly align and mate with second components having slot orientations that are different from the respective key orientation.
