EAS marker, in one embodiment, comprises a self-lockable loop fastener. The self-lockable loop fastener comprises an elongated strap having a first end and a second end, the second end being provided with a plurality of teeth. The self-lockable loop fastener also comprises a paddle disposed at the first end of the strap. The paddle includes a recess and a locking head. The second end of the strap is insertable into, but not through, the locking head, the locking head having a tang for lockably engaging the teeth in such a way as to prevent withdrawal of the strap from the locking head and thereby forming a locked loop of fixed size. The EAS marker also includes a resonator disposed within the recess of the paddle for emitting, when armed, a response signal in response to an interrogation signal transmitted by an EAS system, a biasing element disposed within the recess and positioned relative to the resonator so that, when the biasing element is magnetized, the resonator is armed; a separator disposed within the recess between the resonator and the biasing element for physically separating the resonator and the biasing element; and a cover secured to the paddle to encapsulate the resonator, the separator and the biasing element within the recess and to prevent access to and tampering with the tang and the locking head.

EAS marker

An apparatus () for dispensing individual plastic fasteners from fastener stock (), includes a housing () and a hollow slotted needle () mounted onto said housing (). An indexing wheel () is rotatably disposed within the housing () and advances a fastener to the rear end of the needle (). A rocker () is slidably disposed within the housing and serves to move the cross-bar of the fastener in parallel with the needle bore. A plunger () is disposed within the housing () and is capable of being slidably displaced by a trigger assembly. An ejector rod () is fixedly mounted onto the plunger () and serves to push the cross-bar of the fastener out of the front of the needle (). An indexing slide () separate from the rocker () is slidably disposed within the housing () and serves to rotatably advance the indexing wheel () after the ejector rod () pushes the cross-bar of the fastener out the front end of the needle ().

Apparatus for dispensing individual plastic fasteners from fastener stock

A tamper-proof tie includes a head and an attached strap. The head includes a strap accepting channel and a blind cavity. The strap accepting channel includes a strap entry end and a strap exit end. The blind cavity includes an open end. The head includes a flexible locking member comprising first and second ends which are fixed in place within the head. The strap includes an anti-tampering device which comprises a finger and a projection. In use, the strap is inserted into the strap accepting channel so the tie forms a closed loop. As the strap is inserted into the head, the locking member engages the anti-tampering device to prevent withdrawal of the strap from the head. With the tie formed into a closed loop, the anti-tampering device substantially encloses the entry end and the exit end of the strap accepting channel and the open end of the blind cavity.

Tamper-proof tie

A tamper-proof tie includes a head and an attached strap. The head is shaped to define an elongated interior channel having a strap entry end and a strap exit end. The head includes an articulating locking tang disposed to project into the interior channel. The strap includes a first end formed onto the head, a second end and an anti-tampering device integrally formed onto the second end, the anti-tampering device including a plug and a finger. In use, the strap is inserted into the interior channel so the tie forms a closed loop. As the strap is inserted into the head, the locking tang engages the anti-tampering device to prevent withdrawal of the strap from the head. With the tie formed into a closed loop, the plug is sized and shaped to substantially enclose the entry end and the finger is sized and shaped to substantially enclose the exit end.

A tamper-proof tie includes, in one embodiment, a head and an attached strap. The head is shaped to include an elongated interior channel, an articulating locking tang, a strap limiting stop and a door activation surface. The strap includes a first end formed onto the head, a second end and a strap limiting projection disposed between the first and second ends. The portion of the strap from the first end to the strap limiting projection is in the form a flexible filament. The portion of the strap from the strap limiting projection from to the second end includes a top surface, a bottom surface, a ladder structure having a window, an anti-tampering projection formed on the top surface and a door formed on the bottom surface, the door adapted to pivot between an open position and a closed position. In use, the strap is inserted into the interior channel so the tie forms a closed loop. As the strap is inserted into the head, the locking tang engages the window to prevent withdrawal of the strap from the head, the strap limiting projection abuts against the stop to limit the minimum size of the closed loop and the door activation surface urges the door from its open position to its closed position. Together, the strap limiting projection, the anti-tampering projection and the door enclose the interior channel to protect the locking tang from tampering.

A tie for use in pairing together two objects. The tie comprises a head having an elongated channel extending therethrough, a locking tang within the head, and a strap having a length of approximately 63.3 cm. The strap comprises a first end integrally formed onto the head and a second end. A projection is formed on the strap between the first end and the second end. The portion of the strap from the projection to the first end is in the form of an elongated, flexible filament having a length of approximately 59.5 cm. The elongated filament is narrow in thickness, narrow in width and has a generally uniform, rectangularly-shaped cross-section. The portion of the strap from the projection to the second end is formed in a ladder structure having a plurality of rungs. The rungs of the strap are sequentially engaged by the locking tang when the strap is inserted into and through the elongated channel to form a closed loop. As the strap is further inserted through the elongated channel, the size of the closed loop is decreased. The projection serves as a stop to limit the minimum size of the closed loop which can be formed when the strap is inserted into the head.

Merchandise pairing tie

A rivet tie for coupling together two or more objects. In one embodiment, the tie includes a cable tie shank and a pawl nut which are integrally connected together by a break-away attachment member of reduced strength. The cable tie shank includes a tail having a first end, a second end, a top surface, a plurality of ratchet teeth formed on the top surface and an enlarged button end integrally formed onto the second end. The pawl nut can be separated from the cable tie shank and includes a top surface, a bottom surface, an elongated central opening and a flexible pawl disposed to project into the elongated central opening. In use, two or more objects are disposed on the tail of the cable tie shank. The pawl nut is then slidably mounted onto the tail so as to effectively sandwich the objects between the enlarged button end and the pawl nut, the pawl sequentially engaging the plurality of ratchet teeth on the strap to secure the coupling of the objects together. In another embodiment, the tie further includes a shroud formed onto the top surface of the pawl nut over the elongated central opening, the shroud serving to prevent tampering of the flexible pawl when the tail is inserted into and through the pawl nut.

Rivet tie for coupling together two or more objects

A cable tie for securing a connector to a cable of a harness, the connector having a pair of rails which together form a track therebetween. The cable tie comprises an elongated flexible strap having a first end and a second end. A locking head is integrally formed on the first end of the strap and is adapted to cooperate with the strap to form a loop 22 around the cable. The cable tie further comprises a fastener coupled to the strap which is sized and shaped to slide into the track formed in the connector. In one embodiment, the fastener of the cable tie is integrally formed on the strap. In another embodiment, the fastener of the cable tie and the strap are two separate pieces, thereby enabling the fastener to slide along the strap.

Cable tie

A tie for use in pairing together two objects. The tie comprises a head having an elongated channel extending therethrough, a locking tang within the head, and a strap having a length of approximately 63.3 cm. In one embodiment, the portion of the strap from the projection to the second end is formed in a ladder structure having a plurality of rungs. As the strap is further inserted through the elongated channel, the size of the closed loop is decreased. In another embodiment, the fastener of the cable tie and the strap are two separate pieces, thereby enabling the fastener to slide along the strap.

A one-piece cable tie for securing a cable to a mounting surface having a threaded stud attached thereto, the cable having an outer sheath of convoluted tubing. The cable tie comprises an elongated strap and a locking head on one end of the strap. The locking head is adapted to cooperate with the strap to form a loop around the cable. The cable tie further includes a fastener coupled to the locking head for securing the cable to the threaded stud. The fastener includes a boss having a central bore to enable the boss to be mounted over the threaded stud. The fastener also includes a first set of flexible fingers formed on the boss which are disposed to project into the bore. Each finger comprises an arm pivotally connected to the boss and an engagement head formed on the arm for engaging the threaded stud. The fastener further includes a cover connected to the boss. The cover is constructed so that at least a portion thereof will breakaway from the boss in order to accommodate threaded studs of a length greater than the length of the boss. In one embodiment, a portion of the cover is broken away so as to form a second set of fingers which are formed on the boss and which engage the threaded stud. The first and second set of fingers engage the threaded stud at different points along its length, thereby increasing the amount of force required to extract the fastener from the stud and thereby better stabilizing the fastener on the stud. The cable tie also includes a rib formed on the locking head to engage a cable which is small in size in order to prevent movement of the cable tie relative to the cable and a rib formed on the fastener to engage a cable which is large in size in order to prevent movement of the cable tie relative to the cable.

Cable tie having a stud mountable fastener

A one-piece cable tie for securing a cable to mounting surface having an aperture therein. The cable tie comprises an elongated strap and a locking head integrally formed together. The locking head is adapted to cooperate with the strap to form a loop around the cable. The cable tie further comprises a fastener coupled to the locking head in coaxial alignment with the longitudinal axis of the strap. The fastener includes a flange and a Christmas tree head adapted to be inserted in the aperture of the mounting surface. The Christmas tree head includes a pair of legs integrally formed on and projecting out from the underside of the flange which terminate in a common tip. The pair of legs are capable of being inwardly compressed upon insertion of the Christmas tree head into the aperture. The flange, the legs and the tip together define a longitudinal slot therebetween. Each of the pair of legs includes an integrally formed rib which protrudes into the elongated slot and which serves to limit the amount of inward compressibility of the legs. Each of the pair of legs further includes a plurality of flexible flutes which extend radially outward from along the length of each leg, the flutes engaging the mounting surface so as to frictionally and releasably secure the fastener to the mounting surface. In another embodiment of the present invention, the fastener is coupled to the strap perpendicular with the longitudinal axis of the strap.

Cable tie with christmas tree fastener

A one piece cable tie for forming a plurality of objects such as cables into a bundle includes an elongated flexible strap having a top planar surface, a bottom planar surface, a first end and a second end. The strap further includes a plurality of transverse raised cross-members projecting up from the top planar surface, said raised cross-members being spaced along the length of the strap and defining therebetween a plurality of openings. A locking head is integrally formed to the first end of the strap. The locking head includes an outer end wall, an inner end wall and a pair of sidewalls which together define a generally rectangularly shaped strap accepting channel therebetween. A holding tab is disposed within the locking head and projects out from the inner end wall and into the strap accepting channel. The outer end wall is shaped to include an angled locking face. In use, after the second end of the strap has been inserted through the strap accepting channel and drawn tight around a bundle and the insertion force is thereafter relaxed, the stored pressure of the bundle by virtue of its configuration pivots said strap causing the rear surface of one of the raised ratchet teeth to abut against the angled locking face to lock the strap in place. At the same time, the holding tab engages with one of the openings in the strap to oppose deliberate release of the raised ratchet tooth from the locking face.

A one-piece cable tie for securing a cable to a mounting surface having a threaded stud attached thereto, the cable having an outer sheath of convoluted tubing. The cable tie comprises an elongated strap and a locking head on one end of the strap. The locking head is adapted to cooperate with the strap to form a loop around the cable. The cable tie further includes a fastener coupled to the locking head for securing the cable to the threaded stud. The fastener includes a boss having a central bore to enable the boss to be mounted over the threaded stud. The fastener also includes a plurality of flexible fingers formed to the boss which are disposed to project into the bore. Each finger comprises an arm pivotally connected to the boss and an engagement head formed to the arm for engaging the threaded stud. The fastener further includes a cover connected to the boss. The cover is constructed so that at least a portion thereof will breakaway from the boss in order to accommodate threaded studs of a length greater than the length of the boss. The cable tie also includes a rib formed on the locking head to engage a cable which is small in size in order to prevent movement of the cable tie relative to the cable and a rib formed on the fastener to engage a cable which is large in size in order to prevent movement of the cable tie relative to the cable.

A locator tie for use in securing a cable to a wall having an aperture, the cable including a tubular sheath having longitudinally spaced apart annular grooves on the outer surface thereof. The locator tie includes a fastener and a cable tie, the cable tie being integrally formed with the fastener. The fastener includes an arrowhead mounted on a support and surrounded by a spring-biased basket. The cable tie includes a strap having an inner surface and an outer surface and includes a head portion and a tail portion. The fastener is disposed between the head portion and the tail portion of the strap. The head portion of the strap includes a longitudinal rib located near the basket receivable in an annular groove when the strap is wrapped around a cable to prevent movement of the cable reactive the strap. The rib is shaped to include three pairs of inwardly tapered sidewalls which enable the cable tie to be secured against movement with a variety of tubular sheath sizes.
