A revolving battery reservoir system is disclosed. The revolving battery reservoir system includes a system housing for containing multiple sets of batteries. A housing cap is rotatably mounted on the system housing. A contact rod is provided on the housing cap for contacting a selected one of the multiple sets of batteries responsive to rotation of the housing cap on the system housing. Multiple battery extension springs are provided in the system housing for engaging the multiple sets of batteries, respectively. An electrical device is provided in electrical contact with the multiple battery extension springs and the contact rod.

Revolving battery reservoir system

A multi-purpose light is disclosed. The multi-purpose light includes a housing, an illumination mechanism provided in the housing for illuminating the mailbox interior and a switch provided on the housing for reversibly activating the illumination mechanism. Aa pivot contact having a generally cylindrical pivot portion is rotatably mounted in the housing and engaged by the switch. A contact extension extends from the pivot portion. The switch is moveable between a first position wherein the contact extension disengages the illumination mechanism and the illumination mechanism is extinguished, and a second position wherein the pivot contact rotates in the housing and the contact extension engages the illumination mechanism to activate the illumination mechanism. An activation clip embodiment of the multi-purpose light is also disclosed.

Multi-purpose light

The invention features a method of diagnosing an iron disorder, e.g., hemochromatosis, or a genetic susceptibility to developing such a disorder in a mammal by determining the presence of a mutation in exon 2 or in an intron of an HFE nucleic acid.

Mutations associated with iron disorders

A towing safety device for securing a trailer hitch of a trailer in a coupled configuration with a hitch ball of a towing vehicle. In one embodiment, the towing safety device includes a base plate for attachment to the towing vehicle, at least one arm mount socket provided on the base plate and a lock arm having at least one pivot pin inserted in the arm mount socket, respectively. The lock arm can be pivoted between a lock position in which the lock arm engages the trailer hitch and prevents inadvertent uncoupling of the trailer hitch from the hitch ball, and an unlock position in which the lock arm disengages the trailer hitch to facilitate coupling and uncoupling of the trailer hitch and the hitch ball. In another embodiment, the towing safety device includes a lock bracket for extension over the trailer hitch, which lock bracket is provided with multiple shackle openings. A shackle is extended through the shackle openings and engages the lower curvature of the hitch ball such that the trailer hitch and the hitch ball are interposed between the lock bracket and the shackle.

Towing safety device

A removable mailbox light which can be quickly, easily and removably attached to a mailbox for illuminating the mailbox interior when the mailbox door is opened. In a preferred embodiment, the removable mailbox light is characterized by a housing fitted with an attachment clip for removably attaching the housing to the mailbox, with the housing disposed in the mailbox interior. The housing contains a pair of batteries, and a light bulb disposed in electrical contact with the batteries extends from the front end of the housing adjacent to a beveled, concave or dish-shaped reflection surface. When the mailbox door is closed, a spring-loaded activation clip pivotally mounted in the rear end of the housing is pressed against the housing and breaks electrical contact between the batteries to extinguish the light bulb. Upon opening of the mailbox door, the activation clip assumes an extended configuration and establishes electrical contact between the batteries to energize the light bulb and illuminate the mailbox interior.

The invention provides a method of diagnosing hemochromatosis or a predisposition thereto by detecting an increase in erythrocyte parameters such as mean corpuscular volume or mean corpuscular hemoglobin compared to normal individuals unaffected by hemochromatosis.
