A transaction card is described that includes a first layer, a second layer, a loop antenna, an inductive illumination antenna, and a light-emitting element. At least a one of the first layer and the second layer has a transparent planar portion through which light transmits. The loop antenna is inset between the first layer and the second layer. The light-emitting element has a first terminal and a second terminal. The inductive illumination antenna is inset between the first layer and the second layer and positioned proximate to the loop antenna such that, when the transaction card is positioned in a magnetic field, the inductive illumination antenna is induced with a current from the loop antenna. The inductive illumination antenna is connected to the first terminal and the second terminal.

At least some embodiments are directed to a dynamic card. The dynamic card transmits a first temporary card identification number to a computing device. The dynamic card is without an internal power source and is powered up by an external power source housed within the computing device. The dynamic card determines an absence of unused encrypted card identification numbers and receives a set of encrypted card identification numbers from a server. The dynamic card decrypts a second temporary card identification number from the encrypted card identification numbers and shows the second temporary card identification number on a display, replacing the first temporary card identification number. The second temporary card identification number remains shown on the display after the power from the external power source is discontinued. The second temporary card identification number can be used in a subsequent interaction with another computing device.

Computer-based systems having computing devices configured to interact with dynamic cards and methods of use thereof

Disclosed are examples of transaction cards incorporating aluminum or aluminum alloys. The aluminum can be extracted or recycled from a retired aircraft. Other materials can also be incorporated into the transaction card to provide sufficient weight and rigidity to the transaction card. Stainless-steel can be incorporated into the construction of the card in combination with aluminum to provide a desired user experience.

A transaction card can be manufactured from rigid materials, such as glass, stone, or ceramics. First, a rigid layer of a transaction card can be placed within a first recess of a first metallic sheet. The first recess can comprise a lip and an opening. Next, a binding layer can be placed on top of the first rigid layer of the transaction card where the binding layer comprises a binding medium. A second rigid layer can be placed on top of the binding layer. A second metallic sheet can be placed on top of the first metallic sheet where the second metallic sheet has a second recess with a lip and an opening. Next, the first metallic sheet can be fused together with the second metallic sheet to form a fused metal sheet. The fused metal sheet can be cut along a border of the opening of the first recess.

Rigid transaction card

Disclosed herein is a system for a double-sided credit card and a method of manufacturing the same. In some embodiments, the double-sided credit card comprises a first side and a second side opposite to the first side. The first side comprises a first antenna configured to transmit electronic signals to execute transactions linked to a first financial account, while the second side comprises a second antenna configured to transmit electronic signals to execute transactions linked to a second financial account. An electronic blocker layer is positioned between the first side and the second side such that the electronic signals executing transactions linked to the first financial account is blocked from interfering with the electronic signals executing transactions linked to the second financial account.

A transaction card is described that includes a first print layer, a second print layer, an antenna inlay layer, and a light-emitting element. At least one of the first print layer and the second print layer has a transparent portion through which light transmits. The antenna inlay layer has a loop antenna disposed thereon. The light-emitting element has a two-dimensional form factor and is positioned between the antenna inlay layer and one of the first print layer and the second print layer. The transaction card includes wireless power receiver circuitry that receives a wireless signal via the loop antenna and induces a voltage across terminals of the light-emitting element, causing the light-emitting element to illuminate and emit light through the transparent portion.

A transaction card can be manufactured from rigid materials, such as glass, stone, or ceramics. The transaction card can have a first rigid layer having a first external surface and a first internal surface, with a pocket within the first external surface of the first rigid layer. The transaction card can have a second rigid layer having a second external surface and a second internal surface. A binding layer can be located between the first rigid layer and the second rigid layer can affix the first rigid layer to the second internal layer. An integrated circuit chip can be affixed within the pocket of the first rigid layer. A rim can extend from the first external surface of first rigid layer around a first edge of the first rigid layer and a second edge of the second rigid layer and onto the second external surface of the second rigid layer.

In various some embodiments a cellular card includes at least one microprocessor. The cellular card is equipped with multiple devices and configured with multiple functionalities to deter use of the cellular card in unsecure or fraudulent transactions. In various embodiments, the cellular card overcomes drawbacks often associated with cards containing batteries such as battery overheating, battery short life time, battery underperformance in extreme temperatures, and other types of drawbacks associated with batteries contained in cards.
