The air conditioning apparatus, particularly for rail vehicles, comprises a ventilator (1) which blows conditioned air into a distribution conduit (2). This conduit (2) permits distribution of the air in a direction (x-x') pointing both inwardly and toward the floor (P) of the vehicle, thanks to a series of openings (4) provided on the lateral surface (5) and a series of orifices (6) located facing the openings (4) on an inclined wall (6) located within the conduit (2), and behind the series of openings (4). The securement of the covering (9) on the conduit (2) is insured simply by elements having a supplemental finishing function.

Air conditioning apparatus, particularly for rail vehicles

A compression-type air-conditioning system for a railraod car, intended in particular for a high-speed train, includes a refrigerant compressor, a condenser with tubes in which compressed fluid is cooled by circulation of air around the tubes and is thereafter liquified, an expansion valve supplying a low-temperature refrigerating gas, and an evaporator following the expansion valve. The tubes of the condenser form an oblique bank between a floor of the railroad car and an underframe of the air-conditioning system. The oblique bank enables, on the one hand, the number of the tubes and consequently the cooling capacity of the air-conditioning system to be increased. On the other hand, space is freed up in a vertical direction for fitting damping devices at different fastening points on the condenser. As a result of the invention, there is an improvement in the comfort of passengers, both in terms of air-conditioning and in terms of reducing vibrations. Furthermore, there is a reduction in operating costs.

Air-conditioning system for a railroad train

The air-conditioning device, in particular for a railroad car (2), includes a fan (1) for blowing cold or heated air into a conduit (4), the upper portion of which opens into a space (7) delimited by two parallel walls (8, 9) which are adjacent to the lateral face (5) of the railroad car (2). The space (7) is provided with apertures (10) located substantially at the level of the car windows (11). The conduit (4) is provided on its lateral face with an air discharge vent (13) which extends over the full length of the car. The wall (9) of the space (7) which is adjacent to the interior of the car is provided with a slit (6) located near the conduit (4), the air contained in the car (2) being sucked through the slit (6) into the space 97).
