A method of manufacturing a bottom gusseted pouch is provided. The method comprises unwinding a pouch webbing in a first flow direction, the pouch webbing defining front and back panels; inserting a gusset webbing between the panels in a second flow direction; attaching the gusset webbing to the panels to form a bottom gusseted end; optionally inserting a closure mechanism between the panels in a third flow direction; attaching the closure mechanism to the panels to form the resealable top end of the pouch; sealing the side edges of the panels to complete the pouch; and optionally cutting the completed pouch from the pouch webbing. At least one of the pouch webbing and the gusset webbing is formed of a supported film.

Method of manufacturing a bottom gusseted pouch

A method of manufacturing a flat bottom pouch from a single continuous sheet of webbing comprises unwinding the continuous sheet of webbing and forming an outwardly extending transverse lap seam. The unwound webbing is asymmetrically folded to form a folded sheet defining front and back panels. The folded sheet defines a first section and a second section having a folded edge therebetween, wherein the first section includes a first distal edge, and wherein the second section includes a second distal edge. The folded edge is pushed between the first and second sections to form a first side gusseted panel. A portion of the second section is folded between the first and second sections to form a second side gusseted panel. A transverse end seal is formed proximate the lap seam thereby defining a bottom gusseted panel and the first edge is sealed to the second edge to complete the pouch.

Method of manufacturing a flat bottom pouch

A method of filling a plurality of bottom gusseted pouches disposed on a roll in a top-to-bottom end orientation is provided. The method comprises unwinding the respective bottom gusseted pouch from the roll; providing access to an interior compartment defined by front and back panels and the bottom gusseted end of the respective bottom gusseted pouch; filling the interior compartment with at least one item to produce a filled pouch; and cutting the respective bottom gusseted pouch from the roll by cutting between the top end of the respective bottom gusseted pouch and the bottom gusseted end of an adjacent bottom gussetted pouch connected to the respective bottom gusseted pouch.

A method of manufacturing a roll of bottom gusseted pouches serially connected in a top-to-bottom end orientation is provided. The method comprises unwinding a pouch webbing in a first flow direction, the pouch webbing defining front and back panels of a respective pouch; inserting a gusset webbing between the panels in a second flow direction; attaching the gusset webbing to the panels to form the bottom gusseted end of the pouch; inserting a closure mechanism between the panels in a third flow direction; attaching the closure mechanism to the panels to form the resealable top end of the pouch; sealing the side edges of the panels to complete the pouch; winding the completed pouch onto the roll; and repeating these steps to form the other bottom gusseted pouches in the roll. At least one of the pouch webbing and the gusset webbing is formed of a supported film.

A method to improve the health and growth of suckling dairy calves on dairy farms includes supplementing calves' diets with a ruminal fluid preparation obtained from the rumen of a cow. This supplement provides the calves with the protection needed to develop faster and healthier. It also leads to a decreased incidence of scours in the treated calves.

Ruminal fluid inoculation of calves

A firearm discharge detection device and alarm system featuring a plurality of detector units placed inside a structure which communicate with a central monitoring unit. Each detection unit will detect the discharge of a firearm in its proximity from decibel levels and duration using on board filters and timers and thereon signal the central monitoring unit. A digitized embodiment may also be used to determine the sound of a firearm using a digitized fingerprint of the sound compared to an library of firearm sounds in onboard memory by a microprocessor. The central monitoring unit will thereupon communicate with all the other detection devices installed to sound an audible and/or visible alarm to occupants to exit. Concurrently the central monitoring unit will communicate the firearm discharge and location to police. An optional directional exit alarm or warning to hide may also be activated.

Firearm discharge detection device and warning system

A miniature electrically powered vehicle including an electric motor having a pair of permanent magnets mounted with the North/South pole axis disposed vertically within the vehicle and with the same polarity ends thereof joined together by a common flux strap so that the magnets serve the dual function of interacting with the electric motor and providing an enhanced downward magnetic attraction of the vehicle to the track.
