A self-contained, battery-operated, external vacuum device includes an electric motor with an eccentric output shaft coupled with a reciprocating diaphragm pump in a common housing with the electric motor and batteries. A housing vacuum port is removably mounted inline on a reversible coupler, which in turn is received in an open end of a vacuum chamber for receiving a user's flaccid penis for vacuum engorgement therapy. The reversible coupler includes a pair of concentric annular extensions for establishing a vacuum seal with the housing vacuum port. A reverse side of the coupler includes an extended coupling nipple for alternate vacuum seal attachment with tubing connected to a manual pump. The vacuum chamber is tapered towards the penis introducing end to facilitate the full engorgement of the glans penis. A relative vacuum indicator on the housing permits the user to monitor the degree of negative pressure applied to the penis, which may then be adjusted with a flow control knob mounted on the housing. The electric motor is a relatively high torque low energy consumption motor to prevent pump stall.

The construction of an integral cincture band of elastic material may include a pair of semi-ellipsoidal handles and an enlarged region to be aligned with the urethra of the user's male sex organ so as to relatively reduce the urethral constriction for improved seminal fluid discharge. Radially inwardly projecting regions of predetermined radius of curvature which is relatively large to the overall ring may be provided in predetermined circumferential locations on each lateral side of the dorsal centerline. By such arrangement, effective pressure is applied to the subcutaneous lateral veins and generally to the dorsal venous process of the penis without direct application of constrictive force to the center of the penis dorsal area, thereby minimizing user pressure discomfort or loss of sensation. Relatively inelastic material, such as spherical elements of hardened plastic, may be included in the inwardly projecting regions to further enhance specific circumferentially located blood flow restriction pressures.

Apparatus and method for augmenting male potency cinctures a vacuum induced engorged condition of a male sex organ while also protecting abdominal and scrotal tissue during application of vacuum force to the user. An elastic cincture band has an annular tissue shield secured thereto and preferably reinforced by integrally formed handles. The cincture band and handles are small enough to fit in the open receiving end of a vacuum erection chamber while the tissue shield is large and rigid enough to fit across the vacuum erection chamber open receiving end. The shield is received against the abdomen of a subject while the cincture band is received about the root of the subject's male sex organ and inside the vacuum erection chamber open end. In such position, the tissue shield is interposed between the user's abdomen and the vacuum erection chamber for protecting against abdominal or scrotal tissue (and the anatomy within the scrotum) being drawn into the vacuum chamber during therapy. Integral handles are secured to the cincture band and may be attached or unattached to the tissue shield. A urethra channel for improved discharge of seminal fluids and lateral dorsal venous process pressure points for enhancing the cincturing function may be included in the cincture band inside diameter.
