A system and method for servicing a generator rotor of a turbine are presented. The system includes a support device for supporting the rotor. The support device has a surface. A contact point is established on the surface where the rotor contacts the surface. A location of the contact point along the surface may be variable based on a diameter of the rotor. The support device may be able to accommodate a plurality of different rotors having a plurality of different diameters.

System and method for servicing rotor of generator using universal support device

A lifting tool for lifting a rotor associated with a generator so as to allow a rotor bearing to be removed from a bearing pedestal beneath the rotor. The tool includes a semi-circular base portion that is bolted to the bearing pedestal and a pair of jack screws mounted to the base portion. A hydraulic ram is mounted to the base portion between the jack screws and is positioned against the rotor when the tool is bolted to the bearing pedestal. The ram is used to lift the rotor away from the bearing and the jack screws are used to hold the rotor up once it is in the desired location, where the ram is then lowered.

A system and method for servicing a rotor of a generator are presented. The system includes a carriage for carrying the rotor. At least one carriage steering device are arranged on the carriage for steering the carriage when traversing along a removal skid during servicing the rotor. The carriage steering device is attached to the carriage in a way that it is accessible from above the carriage. The carriage steering device is adjustable such that a center of the carriage aligns to a center rail of the removal skid when traversing along the removal skid during servicing the rotor.

An alignment tool () aligns a first opening (A) in a first member (A) with a second opening (A) in a second member (D) to receive a fastener to couple the members. First () and second () lugs extend from a back plate (). A first pin () is received within a first lug opening (C) and within a third opening (A) in the first member (A). Similarly a second pin () is received within a second lug opening (A) and within a fourth opening (A) in the second member (D). The third (A) and fourth (A) openings are proximate respective first (A) and second (A) openings. Reducing the distance between the back plate () and the first pin () displaces the third opening (A) toward the back plate () to align the first (A) and second (A) openings.

A process is provided for aligning a seal housing assembly with a casing of a gas turbine engine. The casing may comprise a plurality of connecting portions and the seal housing assembly may comprise a plurality of connecting sections. The process may comprise: providing an adjustment tool comprising: a main housing including a first bore and a threaded bore, a first bolt capable of extending through the first bore, and a second bolt capable of threadedly engaging the threaded bore. The process may further comprise mounting the adjustment tool to one of the seal housing assembly connecting sections via the first bolt and adjusting the position of the seal housing assembly relative to the casing by causing the second bolt to move.

Process and tool for aligning a seal housing assembly with a casing of a gas turbine engine

A system and method for maintenance and inspection of a rotor and exhaust assembly that includes a maintenance skid. The maintenance skid includes an exhaust portion that holds an exhaust and a rotor portion that holds a rotor. A pair of movable stands are part of the exhaust portion, where the movable stands move along tracks. At least two stands are part of the rotor portion, where the stands include rollers that allow the rotor to be turned.

A gas turbine shaft bearing system (bearing and/or seal component) service method and service tool that applies biasing force between a gas turbine shaft and a bearing system component supporting the shaft, so that the bearing system component can be removed or installed. The bearing system service tool is coupled directly to the bearing system component and the shaft, preferably without the need for external fixtures. A biasing force generator, such as a hydraulic unit applies a force on the bearing system component to cause component movement on or off the shaft. Counter-biasing forces are resisted by the fixed position turbine shaft. By exerting biasing force directly between the turbine shaft and bearing system component the service tool can be constructed of smaller, man portable components that are more easily maneuvered within relatively confined turbine service spaces, which are common in field installations.
