A wireline deployed fluid blasting tool for removing obstructions from oil and gas wellbore tubing is disclosed. The tool has an inner tubular mandrel retaining a releasable outer sleeve creating an annular fluid passage in communication with fluid ejection ports. Resilient seals seal the annulus between the tool and the wellbore tubing allowing fluid pressure above the tool to advance the tool through the tubing. Fluid enters the annular fluid passage through fluid perforations in the outer sleeve to exit the fluid ejection ports to create a fluid blast to remove obstructions. The outer sleeve shifts along the inner mandrel by fluid pressure to open fluid inlet passages into the inner mandrel allowing fluid to enter and exit through the mandrel while bypassing the annular fluid passage and fluid ejection ports to facilitate pulling the tool from the tubing.

Wireline fluid blasting tool and method

A carrier assembly having at least one sealing cup, a fluid bypass and adjustable wash nozzles, as well as a spear assembly having a central through bore, are attached to the distal end of a length of continuous tubing and inserted in to the flow bore of a pipeline. Fluid is pumped through the annular space between the carrier assembly and the pipeline, providing motive force for advancing the carrier assembly within the pipeline. Fluid can bypass the carrier assembly, enter the central bore of the spear assembly, and return to the surface through the central bore of the continuous tubing. A stuck pig or other obstruction is speared, and thereafter retrieved from the pipeline on the continuous tubing.

Method and apparatus for removal of pigs, deposits and other debris from pipelines and wellbores

A method of cleaning a tubular with a cleaning tool that includes the steps of disposing the cleaning tool in the tubular, the cleaning tool having a main body with a first end, a second end, an inlet, an outlet, and a propulsion relief assembly disposed proximate to the second end. The method further includes the steps of sufficiently pressurizing fluid behind the tubular to propel the cleaning tool along the tubular, and increasing the pressure of the fluid to actuate the propulsion relief assembly, whereby fluid is jetted out the outlet and out of the propulsion relief assembly.

Multifunctional cleaning tool

A single tractor unit is provided for pulling a trailer, in which the tractor itself drives a plurality of hydraulic motors which control a crane unit, a coiled tubing injection unit, and the pumps and motors associated with a liquid nitrogen system which is used for injecting gaseous hydrogen into a workover well with coiled tubing. In an alternative mode, the liquid nitrogen system is replaced with nitrogen generators or tanks of compressed nitrogen gas. In another alternative embodiment, a separate engine, preferably mounted with the other equipment on a trailer, skid, or barge, replaces the single tractor engine for driving the plurality of hydraulic motors. In yet another embodiment, a single engine drives a plurality of well treating systems on an off-shore installation.

Three in one combined power unit for nitrogen system, fluid system, and coiled tubing system

A single tractor unit is provided for pulling a tractor, in which the tractor itself drives a plurality of hydraulic motors which control a crane unit, a coiled tubing injection unit, and the pumps and motors associated with a liquid nitrogen system which is used for injecting gaseous hydrogen into a workover well with coiled tubing. In an alternative mode, the liquid nitrogen system is replaced with one or more nitrogen generators which gather nitrogen from the earth's atmosphere to be pumped through the coiled tubing into the well being treated. Alternatively, the gaseous nitrogen source is one or more tanks of compressed nitrogen gas.

Combined nitrogen treatment system and coiled tubing system in one tractor/trailer apparatus

A method of heating a chemical solution used in a well bore having a tubing string is disclosed. The well bore will intersect a hydrocarbon reservoir. The method will include providing a diesel engine that produces heat as a result of its operation. The engine will in turn produce a gas exhaust, a water exhaust, and a hydraulic oil exhaust. The method would further include channeling the exhaust to a series of heat exchangers. The method may further include flowing a treating compound into the heat exchangers and heating the treating compound in the series of heat exchangers by heat transfer from the exhaust to the treating compound. The operator may then inject the treating compound into the well bore for treatment in accordance with the teachings of the present invention. One such method would be to inject utilizing a coiled tubing unit. The novel thermal fluid heating system is also disclosed.

A method for running tools in an oil or gas well includes the running of an elongated small diameter tubing string from a coil stored on a reel down into the oil and gas well. A fluid conveying carrying tool is secured to the lowermost distal end portion of the coil tubing string so that fluid can circulate from the coil tubing wound upon the reel into a tool assembly. Fluid (or pressurized gas) can be introduced into the well through the tubing so that it circulates through the tubing and then into the tool carrier. A tool such as a wire-line tool is supported by the tool carrier so that pinching can be applied to the tool with the coil tubing string with the tool carrier forming a load transfer interface between the coil tubing string and the wire-line tool.
