There is herein described a process and apparatus for partial oxidation of hydrocarbons. More particularly, there is described a process and an isothermal reactor apparatus for the partial oxidation of methane which comprises a heat transfer surface, a porous catalytic membrane and wherein heat is dissipated and/or removed through the heat transfer surface.

Apparatus and method for adiabatic methane conversion

There is herein described a Fischer-Tropsch reactor. More particularly, there is described a Fischer-Tropsch reactor that incorporates forced flow through a small pore, thick layer, monolith supported catalyst and high levels of heat transfer that is able to operate with high levels of catalyst effectiveness. The catalyst bed () is supported on a distinct porous structure () through which the syn-gas flow is forced and the catalyst layer has a thickness of more than 200 microns.

Fischer tropsch reactor

There is herein described a high pressure gas to liquid (GTL) process. More particularly, there is described a once through high pressure GTL process utilizing a porous catalytic membrane reactor capable of being connected to a novel structured fixed bed reactor that incorporates forced flow through the porous catalytic structured catalyst in combination with high levels of heat transfer where there is no compression of syngas between reforming and Fischer-Tropsch steps.

High pressure gas to liquid process

The present invention is a multiple reaction set for the production of chemicals by equilibrium limited reactions utilizing plate-type or extended surface heat exchangers. The heat exchangers cool the reaction products to condense methanol within the reaction products for separation, and to warm incoming feed reactants prior to entrance of the reactants into a reactor utilized for methanol production. The various reactors, heat exchangers, and separators can be formed as separated zones within enclosed vessels, thereby eliminating the need for separately constructed reactors, heat exchangers, and separators. Multi-stream plate-type of extended surface heat exchangers can be utilized to allow efficient cooling and methanol separation. The multiple reaction set can also be used for the recovery of methanol from a waste or purge gas stream utilizing multiple reactors, multiple plate-type or extended surface heat exchangers and multiple separators as a substitute for or in conjunction with a conventional methanol synthesis loop.
