The present invention a method and apparatus for measuring the compression of a stator corethat comprises attaching a measuring deviceto a tensioner, placing the tensioner on an end of a through-boltof the stator core, and performing at least one act of tensioning the stator corewith the tensioner. Then measuring a compression state of the stator core by the measuring device registers determining the amount of relative compression achieved by the act of tensioning, the relative compression is the amount of actual compression of the core and the amount of stretch of the through-bolt. Finally determining an actual compression state of the stator core based on the measuring.

The present invention comprises a method and apparatus for installing a stator core, or portions thereof, into a power generator framethat comprises assembling the stator core inside of a container, and then moving the container to the power generator. The containeris horizontally aligned with the power generator, and the stator core is transferred from the container to the power generator.

Apparatus and method for the installation of a pre-assembled stator core

In one embodiment the present invention provides for a method for checking the alignment of a stator core that comprises placing a laser sourceand a targeta given distance apart on a stator coreand activating the laser such that the laser strikes the target. Then measuring on the target where the laser strikes, and interpreting the measurement to determine any misalignment of the stator core in the given distance.
