An article of apparel is disclosed that includes a covered electronic device. The apparel is at least partially formed from a material element that defines an aperture. The electronic device is locatable within the aperture and secured to the material element. A material covers the electronic device such that the electronic device cannot be seen. Upon activation of the electronic device, the readout is seen through the material. The electronic device may be a timing device, such as a watch, or a global positioning system unit. The apparel may be a wristband formed from a polymer material or any of a variety of other types of apparel.

An article of apparel is disclosed that includes a covered electronic device. The apparel is at least partially formed from a material element that defines an aperture. The electronic device is locatable within the aperture and secured to the material element. A material covers the electronic device such that the electronic device cannot be seen. Upon activation of the electronic device, the readout is seen through the material. The electronic device may be a timing device, such as a watch, or a global positioning system unit. The apparel may be a wristband formed from a textile material or any of a variety of other types of apparel.

A watch provides a chronographic function while the watch is in a 'sport' mode. If a user activates a button relating to the chronographic function, such as a 'start/lap' button, then the light for the watch will automatically activate. The light may remain active for a significantly long time, such as a period of six seconds or more. Alternately or additionally, if a user activates a button while the watch is in a &#x201c;performance&#x201d; or &#x201c;sport&#x201d; mode, then the light will automatically activate regardless of the button being activated. Still further, the chronographic function of the watch may be configured to not measure a lap time that is lower than a preset threshold value, such as, for example, three seconds.

A band with a reinforced construction. The band has an attachment portion that defines a connector bar passage, a reinforcement pin passage and a reinforcement plate recess intersecting both the connector bar passage and the reinforcement pin passage. The band also has a reinforcement plate and a reinforcement pin. The reinforcement plate defines a connector bar aperture and a reinforcement pin aperture, and is positioned within the reinforcement plate recess such that the connector bar aperture intersects the connector bar passage and the reinforcement pin aperture intersects the reinforcement pin passage. Typically, the reinforcement plate is formed from a resilient material, such as metal or hard plastic. The reinforcement pin is positioned within the reinforcement pin passage such that the reinforcement pin extends through the reinforcement pin aperture of the reinforcement plate. The reinforcement plate thus reinforces the wall of material between the connector bar passage and the end of the attachment portion, and is securely held in place by the reinforcement pin.
