A dual modality endocavity imaging and treatment system for detection of cancer and targeted biopsy and treatment procedures, comprising: a housing; a nuclear detector system housed within the housing and configured for detecting nuclear radiation imaging data; an ultrasound detector system housed within the housing for detecting ultrasound imaging data; a needle associated with the housing and adjustably positionable relative thereto; and a data processing module configured to receive the nuclear radiation imaging data and the ultrasound imaging data and to generate and output an image showing the relative position of the needle and an endocavity object of interest. The needle may include a distinct radiation signature to facilitate imaging thereof.

The present invention relates to inspection of medical patients including, but not limited to, phonocardiography, auscultation and ultrasound medical imaging and other non-acoustical inspection techniques; and industrial non-destructive testing and evaluation of materials, structural components and machinery; and more particularly to the incorporation of cognitive artificial intelligence into an inspection system and method that utilizes cognitive mathematical techniques which emulate the cognitive processing abilities of the human brain including, but not limited to, symbolic cognitive architectures and inference process algebras, to analyze data collected from infrasound acoustical sensors (0.1 Hz-20 Hz), audible acoustical sensors (20 Hz to 20 kHz), ultrasound acoustical sensors and transmitters above 20 kHz, data collected from other non-acoustical inspection devices and systems including, but not limited to electrocardiography (EKG), computed-tomography (CT), single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT), positron emission tomography (PET), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), electromagnetic testing (ET), magnetic particle inspection (MT or MPI), magnetic flux leakage testing (MFL), liquid penetrant, radiographic (x-ray and gamma ray), eddy-current testing, low coherence interferometry, and combinations thereof (i.e., multi-modality inspection data); fuse this data resulting in the generation of new metadata; and then utilize cognitive mathematical techniques to interpret this data against inspection signatures that characterize conditions being diagnosed. The present invention has the ability to also identify and anticipate abnormal conditions that fall outside known inspection signature patterns; and communicate the inspection results to an operator thereby simplifying the initial inspection and diagnosis for medical patients and industrial objects; minimizing false negative and false positive initial inspection results and lowering costs.

Cognitive medical and industrial inspection system and method

An organically instinct-driven simulation system and method that enables organically instinct-driven simulation agents to intuitively, instinctively and logically anticipate future simulation states based upon inputs into the simulation; and proactively execute aggressive actions that are organically instinctive, forward looking, emotional and aggressively proactive resulting in a simulation that is more challenging to human participants. The system and method utilizes symbolic emotional and organically instinct-driven mathematical architectures; and inference processing algebras enabling instinct-driven simulation agents with the organically instinctive, predictive, aggressively proactive and the emotional behavior patterns of humans.

A cognitive system and method for predicting and detecting security breaches is provided which yields cognitive inputs to a security management interface accessible by a human operator. The system utilizes symbolic cognitive architectures and inference processing algebras allowing the system to respond to open, incomplete, and/or unknown problem domains, offering flexibility in the case of unexpected changes in the security environment. The system is also capable of intelligently, and in real-time, adapting security peripheral configurations to further probe and analyze the real-time security environment, provided real-time data that can be processed with symbolic cognitive architectures and inference process algebras enabling the identification of new and emerging threat profiles leading to the prediction and detection of security breaches.

A spatial light modulator assembly is disclosed which adapts a conventional photographic printer to generate photographic images from electronic image signal such as that created by an electronic still image camera. The spatial light modulator assembly comprises a spatial light modulator ('SLIM') which is connected to a computer for imprinting electronic image signal thereon where the electronic image signal is communicated from the computer. The SLM is secured within an adapter which is formed to fit in a negative carrier of the photographic printer such that an image imprinted on the SLM is positioned over a light source thereby projecting the image onto photographic paper held within the conventional photographic printer.

An electronic imaging module is disclosed which is removably insertable into a photographic camera for reversibly converting the camera into an electronic imaging camera. The electronic imaging module includes a sensing unit, a processing unit, and a coupling unit. The sensing unit detects an object image and converts the image to a corresponding electrical signal. The processing unit, which is configured for location within the camera's film cassette holder, includes a storage unit for storing the electrical signal and a transmission link for transmitting the electrical signal to external devices such as a control unit or a base unit. The coupling unit couples the sensing unit to the processor unit. The coupling unit is adjustable to ensure that the sensing unit is in alignment with the camera optical path and the film plane and the processing unit is secured within the film cassette holder.
