A valve assembly including: a hardened insert coupled with a hardened insert carrier; and a valve body coupled with a valve insert, wherein, in a closed configuration of the valve assembly, the valve body contacts a primary sealing surface of the hardened insert and the valve insert contacts an initial sealing surface of a hardened insert carrier to prevent fluid flow through the valve assembly, and, in an open configuration of the valve assembly, the valve body does not contact the primary sealing surface of the hardened insert and the valve insert does not contact the initial sealing surface of the hardened insert carrier to allow fluid flow through the valve assembly, wherein the hardened insert carrier comprises a reciprocating element, a replaceable valve carrier (RVC), or a pump fluid end body.

A valve guide includes a valve guide body having a valve guide bore along a central axis thereof. In an assembled configuration of a horizontal valve assembly comprising the valve guide, a valve stem passes through the valve guide bore, connecting a valve body to the valve guide. The valve guide further includes first and second skis that each extends radially outward from the valve guide body to a lower wing outer surface, such that the lower wing outer surface is a first radial distance from the valve guide bore central axis; and an upper wing extending radially outward from the valve guide body to an upper wing outer surface. The upper wing outer surface is a second radial distance from the valve guide bore central axis. The first radial distance is greater than an interior radius of a housing bore the horizontal valve assembly is positioned in for use.

A plunger actuated valve system is provided. The plunger actuated valve system includes a discharge valve, a stem extending from the discharge valve, and a suction valve coupled with the stem. The suction valve can be operable to abut against a plunger as the plunger translates in a first direction such that the suction valve is in a closed configuration. The suction valve includes a latching component operable to abut against a catch surface of the plunger when the plunger translates in a second direction opposite of the first direction such that the suction valve translates in the second direction.

Valve assembly for a fluid end with limited access

A valve assembly having a valve body, a hardened insert, a sealing insert, and a carrier. The hardened insert is cylindrical and comprises a primary sealing surface. The sealing insert is cylindrical and comprises an initial sealing surface. The carrier has an inside surface. The hardened insert and the sealing insert are coupled to the carrier. In a closed configuration of the valve assembly, the valve body contacts the primary sealing surface of the hardened insert and the initial sealing surface of the sealing insert to prevent fluid flow through the valve assembly, and in an open configuration, the valve body is separated from the primary sealing surface of the hardened insert and the initial sealing surface of the sealing insert to allow fluid flow through the valve assembly.

Pump valve assembly

Examples of a removal tool for a two-piece guide bushing are provided. A specific example comprises a handle, a cap coupled to the handle, the cap comprising arced slots; and a raised boss coupled to the cap, the raised boss configured to fit over the stem guide of a two-piece guide bushing. The guide bushing removal tool may be coupled to a two-piece guide bushing and the guide bushing removal tool may be configured such that rotation of the handle releases the guide bushing center of the two-piece guide bushing.

A reciprocating element includes a cylindrical body having a front end opposite a tail end, and a central axis. The tail end of the cylindrical body is configured to be operatively connected to a pump power end that reciprocates the reciprocating element along a path within a bore of a pump fluid end during operation of a pump. The front end of the cylindrical body includes one or more tool engagement features positioned about an outer circumference of the front end of the cylindrical body of the reciprocating element and adapted to engage a corresponding one or more reciprocating element engagement features of a reciprocating element end of a tool. The reciprocating element can be rotated, pulled, and/or pushed via the tool relative to the central axis of the cylindrical body.
