An apparatus and method for providing a temporary spread footing for supporting a variety of different vertically extending structures. The apparatus includes a frame with a top and bottom. The frame can have a substantial space or void in between the top and bottom into which weights or devices can be placed. A connection on top of the base removably connects to the structure to be supported. Outriggers could also be used to substantially increase the overturning moment resistance of the base. The outriggers can be removable or retractable so that for transportation, the base has minimum dimensions. The method includes pre-determining the needed weight and overturning moment resistance for a particular application and transporting the base to the site and thereafter adding weight and adjusting outriggers to match the pre-determined needed overturning moment resistance.

Apparatus and method for a temporary spread footing

An apparatus, method, and system for lighting includes one or more moveable bases, one or more lighting arrays, and one or more extendable poles. The base, pole, and array are designed to allow elevation of the array to heights exceeding 35&prime;, yet the combination is transportable by conventional over-the-road trucks. In one form, a plurality of bases, poles, and arrays are designed to fit on a conventional over-the-road trailer for transport on one trailer to a lighting location.

Apparatus, method, and system of a moveable lighting

An apparatus and method for moveable lighting of large areas includes moveable bases upon which can be mounted light poles and light fixtures that elevate lights to a substantially high level. Each base has a size and mass that allows the pole and light fixture(s) to freely stand, including against normal environmental conditions without tipping. The base can be moved from location to location and transported with conventional equipment eliminating dedicated trailers or trucks and eliminating a substantial labor and time to erect portable tower.

Apparatus and method for moveable lighting

A mobile lighting system includes a self-powered mobile base that can be driven long distances and maneuvered in tight locations. An articulateable boom is mounted on the base and has multiple degrees of freedom of movement. A light array is attached to the end of the boom and has additional degrees of freedom of movement. One or more fixtures are mounted on the end of the boom and also have several degrees of freedom of movement, as well as having structure to vary the beam pattern output from each fixture. The system contains power generating means as well as all structure to operate the lights and the boom. Additional features which facilitate the efficient and advantageous provision of the mobile lighting system are also disclosed.
