An embodiment of a medical device includes a proximal handle, a distal end effector, an elongate member connecting the end effector to the handle, and a sheath enclosing at least a portion of the elongate member. The handle may include a first mechanism coupled to one of the sheath and the elongate member to move the sheath relative to the elongate member, a second mechanism coupled to the elongate member to rotate the elongate member relative to the handle, and a locking mechanism coupled to the first mechanism to hold the first mechanism in a default position. Embodiments also include methods of positioning the medical device to perform a medical procedure.

Multi-functional medical device

A delivery system for delivering an endovascular prosthesis is disclosed. A handle assembly is disposed at the distal end of the delivery system. The handle assembly includes a main handle and a second handle disposed at least partially on the main handle and rotationally moveable relative to the main handle. A trigger wire release mechanism is operatively coupled to the second handle. A sheath is operatively coupled to the second handle, such that rotation of the second handle relative to the main handle retracts the sheath in a distal direction. Rotation of the handle also moves the trigger wire release mechanism from a first position to a second position to retract one or more trigger wires.

Deployment handle for a pre-loaded iliac prosthesis delivery device

The invention relates to a suturing device used to place sutures inside the human body during various medical procedures. The suturing device includes an elongate body member, a needle deployment mechanism and a needle receiving portion. The elongate body member has a distal portion that defines an opening. The needle deployment mechanism is disposed at least partially within the elongate body member for moving a needle out of the opening at the distal portion of the elongate body member into a tissue; and the needle receiving portion is provided at the distal portion of the elongate body member to capture the needle. The needle receiving portion has a non-planar surface with walls that are non-parallel with respect to a longitudinal direction of the needle receiving portion such that the walls converge to form an aperture formed in the needle receiving portion to receive the needle.

Suturing device for treament of pelvic floor disorders

A medical retrieval device of an embodiment of the present disclosure includes a proximal handle, a sheath, and a retrieval assembly. The sheath extends from the handle and includes a lumen and a distal end opposite the handle. The retrieval assembly is moveable relative to the sheath to achieve a collapsed position of the retrieval assembly within the lumen and an expanded position of the retrieval assembly when extended outside the lumen. The retrieval assembly includes a plurality of legs. At least one of the legs includes a wire having an inner core at least partially surrounded by an outer layer.

Medical retrieval devices

This invention relates generally to an endoluminal prosthesis, and more particularly, to a stent graft assembly and method for treating branched vessels. The assembly includes a first prosthesis, such as an iliac branch device (IBD), comprising a tubular main body, a first leg extending from a distal end of the main body and at least one fenestration formed in the main body. An internal tubular side branch extends proximally from the fenestration into the lumen of the main body, resulting in an iliac branch device having an overall reduced proximal length. The assembly further includes a second prosthesis, or a bridging limb, having a distal end with a scalloped fenestration formed therein to accommodate sealing with the proximal end of the iliac branch device without interfering with the internal branch. A connecting stent graft adapted for placement in the internal iliac artery may be sealingly connected to the internal branch.

Stent graft assembly for treating branched vessels

A delivery system for delivering an endovascular prosthesis is disclosed. A handle assembly is disposed at the distal end of the delivery system. The handle assembly includes a main handle and a second handle disposed at least partially on the main handle and longitudinally moveable relative to the main handle. A trigger wire release mechanism is disposed in the interior or the main handle. A sheath is operatively connected to the second handle, such that longitudinal movement of the second handle relative to the main handle retracts the sheath in a distal direction. Movement of the trigger wire release mechanism from a first position to a second deployed position is prevented when the sheath is in the first position. Methods for accessing the iliac arteries and deploying an endovascular prosthesis therein using the delivery system and handle assembly are also disclosed.

This invention relates generally to an endoluminal prosthesis, and more particularly, to a stent graft assembly and method for treating branched vessels. The assembly comprises a first prosthesis having an overall shortened length comprising a main body formed of biocompatible graft material having a tapered proximal end. A bifurcated portion extends distally from the main body. The bifurcated portion comprises a first tubular portion defining a first lumen and a second tubular portion defining a second lumen. The assembly further comprises a second prosthesis having a tubular body of biocompatible graft material with a flared distal end portion. The flared distal end portion of the second prosthesis is configured to sealingly engage with the tapered main body of the first prosthesis.

Assembly for treating branched vessels

A medical device including an elongate member having a distal end portion, a proximal end portion, and a medial portion disposed between the distal end portion an the proximal end portion. The proximal end portion is configured to be disposed within a bladder of a patient. A portion of the proximal end portion is configured to contact an inner wall of the bladder to help retain the bladder in an expanded configuration.

A medical retrieval device, and related method, for removing material, such as calculi, from a patient's body. In one embodiment, the device includes a handle, a sheath, and a retrieval assembly located at the distal end of the retrieval device. The retrieval assembly includes a plurality of legs, each of which includes a lumen for receiving fluid. The legs are made of an expandable material that will allow the legs to inflate when the lumen receives a fluid. In another embodiment, the device includes a core element wound to form a helical coil. The helical coil has a lumen for receiving a fluid. The core element is made of an expandable material that allows it to inflate when the lumen within the helical coil receives a fluid.

Medical retrieval device

An ablation probe and method of manufacturing the ablation probe are provided. The probe comprises a probe shaft and a unibody electrode element. The unibody electrode element comprises a common electrode base located at the distal end of the shaft, and a plurality of electrode tines distally extending from the electrode base. The electrode element may be created by forming divisions (such as slits or slots) from a first end of an electrically conductive elongate member towards an opposing second end of the elongate member. Alternatively, the divisions can be formed from a first end of an electrically conductive sheet towards an opposing second end of the sheet, and then bent or rolled to form the elongate member. In either case, the common electrode base can either be separately mounted to a probe shaft, or the probe shaft can be formed from the elongate member, in which case, the electrode base will be integrated with the probe shaft as a unibody structure. The electrode tines can be optionally shaped, e.g., to proximally evert.
