A fluid delivery system, method, and apparatus for providing instillation therapy with a negative-pressure source is described. The apparatus includes a housing having an ambient chamber and a negative-pressure chamber fluidly isolated from each other. The apparatus also includes a moveable barrier disposed in the housing between the ambient chamber and the negative-pressure chamber. The moveable barrier is operable to move between a charge position and a discharge position in response to negative pressure. A fluid source is disposed in the negative-pressure chamber and is collapsible in response to movement of the moveable barrier to the discharge position. The apparatus also includes a fluid outlet in fluid communication with the fluid source, a negative-pressure port in fluid communication with the negative-pressure chamber and configured to be coupled to a negative-pressure source, and a vent formed in the housing and fluidly coupled to the ambient chamber.

Systems, methods, and apparatuses for providing instillation therapy with a negative-pressure source are described. The apparatus can include a housing having a dosing chamber and a negative-pressure chamber fluidly isolated from each other. The apparatus can also include a moveable barrier disposed in the housing between the dosing chamber and the negative-pressure chamber. The housing includes a fluid inlet in fluid communication with the dosing chamber and a fluid outlet in fluid communication with the dosing chamber. The housing can also include a negative-pressure inlet in fluid communication with the negative-pressure chamber and a biasing element coupled to the moveable barrier. The biasing element is operable to move the moveable barrier between a charge position and a discharge position.

A dressing for treating a tissue site with negative pressure may comprise a manifold layer having a first surface configured to face the tissue site, a second surface opposite the first surface, and a thickness extending between the first surface and the second surface. The manifold layer may comprise a tissue portion and a bridge portion. The bridge portion may be coupled to the tissue portion and may comprise a distal end configured to be extended away from the tissue portion. The dressing may also comprise a flexible drape configured to form a sealed space including the manifold layer at the tissue site.

Systems, methods, and apparatuses for irrigating a tissue site are described. The system can include a tissue interface and a sealing member configured to be placed over the tissue site to form a sealed space, and a negative-pressure source fluidly coupled to the sealed space. The system includes an irrigation valve having a housing, a piston disposed in the housing, a fluid inlet to fluidly couple a fluid inlet chamber to a fluid source, and a fluid outlet to fluidly couple a fluid outlet chamber to the sealed space. A piston passage extends through the piston and fluidly couples the fluid inlet chamber and the fluid outlet chamber, and a biasing member is coupled to the piston to bias the irrigation valve to a closed position. The negative-pressure source is configured to move the piston between the closed position and an open position to draw fluid to the sealed space.

A wound dressing includes a superabsorbent pad, a drape layer, a humidity chamber, a wick, and a humidity colorimeter sensor. The superabsorbent pad is configured to absorb wound fluid and has a first side and a second, wound-facing side. The drape layer is coupled to the first side of the superabsorbent pad and has a first side and a second, wound-facing side. The drape layer is substantially impermeable to liquid and substantially permeable to vapor. The humidity chamber is coupled to the first side of the drape layer opposite the superabsorbent pad. The wick extends through the drape layer and is configured to wick moisture between the superabsorbent pad and the humidity chamber. The humidity colorimeter sensor is located within the humidity chamber and configured to change color responsive to a humidity level within the humidity chamber.

Systems and methods for treating a plurality of tissue sites include a multi-port therapy unit. The multi-port therapy unit includes a plurality of patient-side ports each fluidly coupled to a plurality of conduits and a fluid reservoir fluidly coupled to the plurality of ports. A plurality of pressure sensors are associated with the plurality of patient-side ports to determining a pressure associated with each conduit. A controller is operatively coupled to the plurality of pressure sensors to receive treatment pressure data, monitor pressure for each pressure sensor of the plurality of pressure sensors, and signal an alarm condition if the pressure is outside of a pre-selected range. The system includes a reduced-pressure source fluidly coupled to a dressing at each tissue site through the multi-port therapy unit.

A system for providing therapy to a tissue site is described. The system can include a light sensor, a motion sensor, and a controller. The controller can be communicatively coupled to the source of negative pressure, the light sensor, and the motion sensor. In some embodiments, the controller can be configured to receive a first signal from the light sensor indicative of ambient light, receive a second signal from the motion sensor indicative of activity, and activate alert based on the first signal and the second signal.

A wound fluid collection system includes a canister adapted to collect bodily fluids from a tissue site. The canister includes an acoustic transducer adapted and positioned to insonify a cavity within the canister, the cavity being defined by a wall of the canister and the bodily fluids collected within the canister. A resonant frequency may be calculated based on a resulting received signal from the insonification. The resonant frequency may indicate a volume of the cavity within the canister. The difference between a known volume of the canister and the calculated volume of the cavity provides the volume of bodily fluid collected in the canister.

Systems, apparatuses, and methods for instilling fluid to a tissue site in a negative-pressure therapy environment are described. Illustrative embodiments may include a pneumatically-actuated instillation pump that can draw a solution from a solution source during a negative-pressure interval, and instill the solution to a dressing during a venting interval. A pneumatic actuator may be mechanically coupled to a disposable distribution system that can provide a fluid path between the solution source and a distribution component. A bacterial filter may be disposed in the fluid path between the actuator and the distribution component to prevent contamination of the actuator during operation. The distribution system may be separated from the actuator and disposed of after operation, and the actuator may be re-used.

The system may include a tissue interface configured to be placed adjacent to the tissue site, and a sealing member configured to be placed over the tissue interface to form a sealed space. The system may also include a negative-pressure source configured to be fluidly coupled to the sealed space and a fluid source. The system may further include an irrigation valve. The irrigation valve can have a fluid inlet configured to be fluidly coupled to the fluid source. The irrigation valve can also have a fluid outlet configured to be fluidly coupled to the sealed space. The irrigation valve may also include a clamp configured to be actuated by the negative-pressure source to regulate fluid flow from the fluid source through the fluid outlet.
