A granular material manipulation device may include an upper handle and a lower handle. One or more upper arms may be coupled to the upper handle so that the upper arms may extend away from the upper handle. One or more lower arms may be coupled to the lower handle so that the lower arms may extend away from the lower handle. A positioning pivot may be configured to enable the device to be movable between a first and a second position. The lower arms may be positioned relatively closer to the upper arms in the first position, and the lower arms may be positioned relatively farther from the upper arms in the second position. Preferably, the device may be biased to the first position. A plate may be pivotally coupled to the first upper arm and/or to the second upper arm via one or more plate pivots.

Granular material manipulation device

A custom-tint paint production system that includes a color sensing device such as a low-resolution spectrophotometer to measure color of a preexisting surface color, a color data translation engine to convert the measured values to spectral curve values, and a tint formulation engine to determine a custom tint formulation based upon the spectral curve values, which is usable by a tinter to tint a base coating composition by adding one or more colorants in amounts based on color measurements from the color sensing device.

System and method for tinting using low-resolution spectrophotometer

An electrode assembly for a discharge lamp, particularly a ceramic metal halide (CMH) lamp, having a ceramic body defining a discharge chamber and at least one leg having an opening therethrough. An electrode assembly is received at least in part in the body, preferably including a niobium mandrel, a molybdenum mandrel, and a molybdenum overwind received over the mandrel. A tungsten portion is then joined to the molybdenum composite. Adjacent turns of the overwind are spaced by a gap to facilitate receipt of an associated seal material on the overwind and the molybdenum mandrel. The gap is approximately 10% to 50% of the dimension between adjacent turns of the overwind relative to a diameter of the overwind.

Lower turn per inch (TPI) electrodes in ceramic metal halide (CMH) lamps

A lamp includes a discharge sustaining fill which includes cesium halide, one of indium halide and thallium halide, optionally gadolinium halide and a rare earth halide component selected from dysprosium halide, holmium halide, thulium halide, and neodymium halide. In operation without a jacket, the lamp may have a color temperature of from 7,000K to 14,000K and a color rendering index of at least 70 when operated at an arc wall loading in excess of about 2 W/mm.

Ceramic metal halide lamp

A significant reduction in thermal energy loss along the legs or ends of the arctubes in a CMH lamp is achieved in the present invention. The diameter of a mandrel ( ) is significantly reduced for CMH lamps. Either a single overwind ( ) or multiple overwind layers ( ) are used. Since the thermal conductivity of the mandrel greatly exceeds that of the overwind, the axial thermal conductivity will scale like the cross sectional area of the mandrel alone.
