Derivatives of azadirachtin are described which should facilitate their synthesis and provide greater stability than their naturally-occurring counterpart. The derivative 2',3',22,23-tetrahydorazadirachtin is also described, that derivative retaining full activity and having enhanced stability. Also described is a newly identified, naturally occurring derivative of azadirachtin, 1-cinnamoylmelianolone, and several of its derivatives. Insecticidal and antifeedant compositions including these compounds, and processes for their use, are also described.

Derivatives of azadirachtin are described which should facilitate their synthesis and provide greater stability than their naturally-occurring counterpart. The derivative 2',3',22,-23-tetraydroanzadirachtin is also described, that derivative retaining full activity and having enhanced stability. Insecticidal and antifeedant compositions including these compounds also described.

Derivatives of salannin, including 2',3',20,21,22,23-hexahydro salannin and 20,21,22,23-tetrahydro salannin derivatives, having up to 40-fold greater insect antifeedant activity than native salannin.
