A register boot and grille can be quickly installed using the Zip Clips provided and a hollow threaded securement knob without the need for any tools. The method of installation is also claimed.

A connector for connecting a terminal end of a heating duct to a heating duct board, the connector including an annular cylindrical portion with an outer surface and a maximum outer diameter and a flange extending radially outwardly from the outer surface of the annular cylindrical portion. The flange has a dimension greater than the maximum diameter forming an abutment against which a lower edge of the heating duct board abuts. The flange also has at least one sleeve for receiving a zip tie. The connector includes retention means for securing the connector to the heating duct board with the heating duct board encircling the annular cylindrical portion and being in abutting engagement with the flange. The retention includes at least one zip tie mounted through the at least one sleeve of the flange and engageable in a mouth of the heating duct board to which the connector is secured.

An insulative block of foam insulation has interspersed on an upper angled surface, a series of ridges and valleys. The valleys afford passageways for air circulation through the soffits and out the attic vents, be they ridge vents or attic turbines. This eave insulation prevents/reduces the thaw freeze phenomenon resulting from heat escaping in the vent region which results in the formation of ice dams which often produce roof damage.

A plastic duct section is equipped with integral connections on its ends. Each duct has indicia along its running length to facilitate cutting of the duct to a desired length. In one embodiment, the indicia may take the form of equally spaced circumferential ribs spaced along the length of the duct. These ribs are engaged by sets of fingers extending toward each other from concentric walls spaced to receive the straight end of an adjacent duct section. The innermost end of the concentric walls is equipped with a layer of insulative material to enable sealing engagement between duct sections significantly reducing pressure loss. Attached straps permit duct sections to be easily suspended between adjacent joists. A floor-mounted elbow boot is equipped with a removable plastic cover to prevent dust, dirt and debris from accumulating in the installed heating duct during finish construction of the building.
