A photographic display for depicting a three dimensional visual image including a supporting frame for displaying a photographic image including a height, width and a predetermined thickness. A viewing screen is provided and disposed to extend substantially along the height and width of said supporting frame and being positioned on a first side thereof. The viewing screen includes a plurality of substantially parallel lines having a predetermined width and being separated by clear spaces. A photographic image is provided and disposed to extend substantially along the height and width of said supporting frame and being positioned on a second side thereof, spaced from said first side by said predetermined thickness of the supporting frame. The photogrpahic image includes a plurality of substantially parallel image segments having a predetermined width corresponding to the width of the lines positioned on the viewing screen and the lines positioned on the photographic images are in alignment and registration with the lines positioned on the viewing screen. The predetermined thickness spacing the photographic image from the viewing screen reveals a three dimensional visual image of the photographic image when viewing the photographic image through the viewing screen. Ambient air is positioned in the space between the viewing screen and the photographic image.

Present day diesel engines having aluminum piston assemblies are limited to combustion chamber pressures of approximately 12,410 kPa (1,800 psi) whereas the desire is to increase such pressures up to the 15,170 kPa (2,200 psi) range. To reach such levels the instant piston assembly includes a steel piston member having an upper cylindrical portion defining a top surface, a depending tubular wall and an annular cooling recess having one or more machined surfaces of revolution about a central axis. The cooling recess is located beneath the top surface and juxtaposed to the top ring groove for removing heat away therefrom in use. The piston member is preferably forged and subsequently machined to precisely controllable dimensions. Moreover, the piston assembly is preferably of the articulated type and includes a forged aluminum piston skirt connected to the piston member through a common wrist pin.

A photographic camera for three-dimensional photography has a housing which includes an opening to the interior on a forward side thereof and an aperture moveable transversely across the opening for selectively admitting light rays through the opening. Within the housing are located optical means for focusing the light rays along an optical path to a location adjacent the rearward side of the housing. At the rearward side of the housing there is located mechanical means for moving a planar object synchronously and in the same direction with the aperture. The improvement comprises an assembly for permitting the camera to accept a large number of film sizes and formats loaded in removeable, light-tight film holders. The assembly is especially useful in adapting the camera for use with Polaroid-type film. The assembly includes a sliding frame which is attached to the mechanical movement means of the camera for synchronous movement with the aperture. The sliding frame includes attachment means which are adapted to removeably secure a lenticular screen frame either in the vertical or horizontal format. A back member attached to the camera housing for selective closure of the rearward side of the housing includes spring means for urging a film holder, preferably of a conventional instant-developing type, toward the rearward side of the lenticular screen such that the photosensitive film will be immoveably held against the lenticular screen as the screen moves along with the sliding frame as required for proper operation of the camera. The assembly is designed to allow the creation of three-dimensional pictures in either the vertical or horizontal format.
