Esterquat compositions are disclosed that comprise, based on the weight of the composition, 0% to about 70% by weight of a solvent, and about 30% to 100% by weight of a mixture comprising about 50% to about 80% by weight, based on the weight of the mixture, of esterquats and about 20% to about 50% by weight, based on the weight of the mixture, of mono- and diglycerides. The esterquat compositions can be prepared by the direct esterification of a natural oil with an alkanolamine, followed by quaternization in the presence of the solvent. The esterquat compositions can be formulated into hair care compositions that provide improved wet and dry combing properties.

Esterquat compositions

A liquid cleansing composition comprising a glyceryl caprylate/caprate ester that provides excellent viscosity-building properties, as well as enhanced foaming properties. The glyceryl caprylate/caprate ester is preferably glyceryl caprylate/caprate, and is preferably obtained by esterifying glycerin with C8-C10 fatty acids derived from coconut or palm kernel oil. The cleansing composition also comprises one or more surfactants, and optional additives, and can be formulated into a body wash, shampoo, 2-in-1 shampoo, facial cleanser, or liquid hand soap.

Liquid cleansing compositions

The present invention relates to low viscosity aromatic polyester polyols having an average functionality of two and methods for preparing such polyols. In particular, the invention relates to low viscosity aromatic polyester polyols prepared by reacting a phthalic acid based material with diethylene glycol, a higher functional polyol having an average functionality of greater than two and a long chain alkyl acid, ester or oil. The resulting aromatic polyester polyol has an average functionality of two and has a lower dynamic viscosity as compared to the esterification product of a phthalic acid based material with diethylene glycol alone.
