A system and method for loading one or more vehicles onto the cargo bed of a transporting vehicle such as a pickup truck or trailer is presented. The system includes a supporting located at the front of the cargo bed above the plane of the cargo bed and one or more ramps. The ramps and the supporting are adapted to connect to and remove from each other such that the ramps are secured inside the cargo bed at an angle above the plane of the cargo bed of the transporting vehicle. This system provides additional clearance and storage space in the cargo bed. In a preferred embodiment where the transporting vehicle is a pickup truck, the supporting also functions as a headache rack or a ladder rack. A method of using this system to load one or more vehicles is also presented.

A method for increasing the slip of polyolefins and improving the adhesion of water based inks of polyolefins by incorporating into the polyolefin an effective amount of a lactamide having the formula: ##STR1## wherein R is alkenyl having from about 12 to about 22 carbon atoms. Optionally, there can be included with the lactamide a finely divided inorganic material. Also disclosed are compositions of matter comprising a polyolefin, such as homopolymers and copolymers of ethylene and propylene, the aforedescribed lactamide and optionally a finely divided inorganic material. Also described is the new compound, N-erucyl lactamide.

Polyolefins/alkenyllactamide composition

A method for improving the printing of polyolefins with water-based inks by incorporating into the polyolefin an effective amount of N-ethanol erucamide or N-ethanol oleamide. Optionally a finely divided inorganic material can be added with the N-ethanol erucamide or N-ethanol oleamide.

A pool leak detector for use in combination with a pole having a proximal end to be used as a handle and a distal end to be submerged in the pool, the detector comprising means for providing a container of dye carried on the distal end with the container having exit port means for conveying dye from the container. Battery-operated actuating means for releasing dye from the container through the port means is provided, the actuating means comprising a battery pack for supplying electrical energy carried on the proximal end of the pole and an electrically-operated actuator carried on the distal end of the pole. The container is a collapsible container, and means for placing the container under load to eject dye from the exit port means is provided.
