The Internet can be configured to provide communications to a large number of Internet-of-Things (IoT) devices. Devices can be designed to address the need for network layers, from central servers, through gateways, down to edge devices, to grow unhindered, to discover and make accessible connected resources, and to support the ability to hide and compartmentalize connected resources. Network protocols can be part of the fabric supporting human accessible services that operate regardless of location, time, or space. Innovations can include service delivery and associated infrastructure, such as hardware and software. Services may be provided in accordance with specified Quality of Service (QoS) terms. The use of IoT devices and networks can be included in a heterogeneous network of connectivity including wired and wireless technologies.

Internet of things

Digital holographic microscopy and related image processing techniques are described. A hologram captured in an image frame is split into different depths while a new hologram is being captured. Image slices of the hologram are determined and using free space impulse responses that are pre-calculated at a different precision than processing operations using the holographic data. Each computation is calculated in parallel based on the number of available processing cores and threads. The image slices are combined into a 2D array or 3D array to permit further processing of the combined array to count and size particles in the image frame. The reconstructed hologram is displayed at a subsequent image frame than that used to capture the hologram.

Image processing techniques using digital holographic microscopy

A split structure design for an internet of things (IoT) device including a control IoT device (CID) and a sensor IoT device (SID). An example of an apparatus provides a CID including a power transmitter to power a SID through a barrier and a control data transceiver to communicate with the SID through the barrier. The CID includes a power adjustor to increase a power transmission to the SID in steps, and an intermodule communicator to determine if communications have been established with the sensor IoT, and, if not, instruct the power adjustor to increase the power transmission to the SID by a step.

Split structure design for an internet of things device

A sound source localization apparatus configured to identify a location for an active sound object within a defined physical space is described. The sound source localization apparatus may include an acoustic component, a thermal component, and an analysis component. The acoustic component determines an approximate location for at least one sound object within the defined physical space. The thermal component determines an approximate location for at least one thermal object within the defined physical space. The analysis component identifies the active sound object when the approximate locations for at least one acoustic object and at least one thermal object match. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

Techniques for spatial filtering of speech

Technologies for monitoring a characteristic of a monitored system include determining a measured value of the primary characteristic of the monitored system sensed by a primary sensor and a measured value of the secondary characteristic of the monitored system sensed by a secondary sensor, and predicating a predicted value of the primary characteristic based on the measured value of the secondary characteristic. The measured and predicted values of the primary characteristic are used to determine whether the primary sensor is properly functioning.

Technologies for predictive monitoring of a characteristic of a system

An audio signal processing system removes at least a portion of a noise component from a number of audio input signals generated by a number of closely proximate agents within an input signal source location. The availability of each audio input signal and the geographically proximate location of each of the agents creating an audio input signal facilitates the real-time or near real-time reduction in ambient noise level in each of the audio input signals using a Blind Sound Source Separation (BSSS) technique.

Embodiments of a system and method for removing speech by a user from audio frames are generally described herein. A method may include receiving a plurality of frames of audio data, extracting a set of frames of the plurality of frames, the set of frames including speech by a user with a set of remaining frames in the plurality of frames not in the set of frames, suppressing the speech by the user from the set of frames using a trained model to create a speech-suppressed set of frames, and recompiling the plurality of frames using the speech-suppressed set of frames and the set of remaining frames.
