Implementations disclose methods and systems for providing a media item at an adjusted playback. A method includes receiving, from a first user device, a playback request from a first user for a first media item including one or more portions of media content; determining an adjusted playback for at least one portion of the first media item that is different than a default playback for the at least one portion of the first media item. The determining is based on previous playback behavior of one or more users in relation to one or more media items that each included one or more portions of media content corresponding to the one or more portions media content of the first media item; and causing the at least one portion of the first media item to be rendered on the first user device at the adjusted playback.

Auto-adjust playback speed and contextual information

Systems and methods for generating return journey notifications include obtaining a request for navigational directions to a target destination. An outbound journey route from an initial location to the target destination can be determined, wherein the outbound journey route includes an estimated outbound journey time. A return journey route from the target destination to a return destination can be determined, wherein the return journey route includes an estimated return journey time. The outbound journey route and/or return journey route can be determined at least in part from one or more of current traffic conditions or historical traffic conditions. One or more notifications regarding the return journey route can be generated when comparing the estimated outbound journey time to the estimated return journey time results in a determination that one or more predetermined criteria are met.

Providing traffic warnings to a user based on return journey

A first user device executing a messaging application receives a first message from a second user device. The first user device that is associated with a user determines whether the first message includes a first reference to a first media item. Responsive to determining that the first message includes the first reference to the first media item, media playlist information identifying the first media item is generated. The media playlist information identifying the first media item is sent to a content sharing platform. The first media item is to be added to a media playlist maintained by the content sharing platform.

Video playlists and recommendations based on electronic messaging communications

Methods and systems may help to provide filtered notification content that provides useful information to the intended recipient, but does not provide the same information to an unauthorized viewer. To do so, when an application event occurs, filtered notification content may be generated. The filtered notification content may combine a non-obfuscated portion of the event content and an obfuscated portion of the event content, such that when viewed by an intended recipient, the filtered notification content provides implicit information that the device expects the particular user to understand based on the user's own experience and/or other factors.

Selective obfuscation of notifications

A system is described that, after executing a parameterless search query to identify results that are determined to be relevant to a user of a device, determines a respective target property, for each of the results, that indicates whether a result is associated with audio content, visual content, audio and visual content, haptic content, or textual content. The system also determines one or more dynamic properties, of the device, that indicate one or more of a network connection strength, connection status to an audio output device, battery level, or connection status to a multimedia streaming device. Based on the one or more dynamic properties of the computing device and the respective target property of each of the results, the system determines a dynamic ranking of the results and transmits the results and the dynamic ranking to the device.

Information ranking based on properties of a computing device

A method includes receiving a received message and a draft reply message to the received message, the received message including a received message component, the received message component representing one or more of a question, a request, and a subject. The method also includes parsing the received message to detect the received message component and parsing the draft reply message into one or more reply message components, identifying, using one or more machine learning models, informational components associated with the received message component and the one or more reply message components by at least applying the machine learning module to the received message component and each reply message component of the one or more reply message, and identifying, based on the one or more informational components, one or more deficient components in the subject draft reply message, and outputting, for display, information about the one or more deficient components.

Message analysis using a machine learning model

In some examples, a method includes receiving, first notification data from a first application and second notification data from a second application. The method may include generating, based at least in part on comparing the first notification data to the second notification data, an affinity score that indicates whether content from the first notification data has a relationship to at least a portion of content from the second notification data. The method may include, generating a bundle notification graphical element that includes at least a portion of the content from the first notification data and a graphical indicator that indicates the content from the first and second notification data are related. The method may include outputting a set of notification graphical elements comprising the bundle notification graphical element accompanied by the graphical indicator.

Notification bundles for affinities between notification data

A system and method includes receiving, by a server system from a first user device executing a first instance of a messaging application, a first message for a user of a second user device executing a second instance of the messaging application. The method also includes determining whether the first message includes a first reference to a first media item. The method includes responsive to determining that the first message includes the first reference to the first media item, generating media playlist information identifying the first media item. The method further includes sending the media playlist information identifying the first media item to a content sharing platform, the first media item to be added to a media playlist maintained by the content sharing platform.

A method includes determining, based at least in part on a type of information to be displayed at a display device associated with a computing device, a privacy level for the information to be displayed; and determining whether the privacy level satisfies a threshold privacy level. The method also includes, responsive to determining that the privacy level satisfies the threshold privacy level, determining whether an individual not associated with a currently active user account of the computing device is proximate to the display device. The method also includes determining an estimated speed of the individual not associated with the currently active user account relative to the display device. The method further includes determining, whether the estimated speed satisfies a threshold speed, and responsive to determining that the estimated speed satisfies the threshold speed, outputting the information such that at least a first portion of the information is obscured.

Selectively obscuring private information based on contextual information

Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for receiving audio data corresponding to an utterance, determining that the audio data corresponds to a hotword, generating a hotword audio fingerprint of the audio data that is determined to correspond to the hotword, comparing the hotword audio fingerprint to one or more stored audio fingerprints of audio data that was previously determined to correspond to the hotword, detecting whether the hotword audio fingerprint matches a stored audio fingerprint of audio data that was previously determined to correspond to the hotword based on whether the comparison indicates a similarity between the hotword audio fingerprint and one of the one or more stored audio fingerprints that satisfies a predetermined threshold, and in response to detecting that the hotword audio fingerprint matches a stored audio fingerprint, disabling access to a computing device into which the utterance was spoken.

Hotword recognition

Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for hotword detection on multiple devices are disclosed. In one aspect, a method includes the actions of receiving audio data that corresponds to an utterance. The actions further include determining that the utterance likely includes a particular, predefined hotword. The actions further include transmitting (i) data indicating that the computing device likely received the particular, predefined hotword, (ii) data identifying the computing device, and (iii) data identifying a group of nearby computing devices that includes the computing device. The actions further include receiving an instruction to commence speech recognition processing on the audio data. The actions further include in response to receiving the instruction to commence speech recognition processing on the audio data, processing at least a portion of the audio data using an automated speech recognizer on the computing device.

Hotword detection on multiple devices

Aspects of the subject technology relate to aligning display devices. A trajectory path of a pointer between a first point on a first display device and a second point on a second display device is captured. A first direction of a first portion of the trajectory path on the first display device is determined. A second direction of a second portion of the trajectory path on the second display device is determined. An adjustment value to correct a misalignment between the first display device and the second display device is determined based on a difference between the first direction and the second direction.
