An apparatus comprising: a housing containing a speaker for delivering sound waves; and a sensing element for detecting air movement in the housing and further providing a control signal based on the detected air movement. The control signal is sent to a host apparatus. A user interface operation dependent on the control signal is preformed, such as filtering, muting or amplifying an input audio signal to the speaker or switching off the host apparatus. The housing comprises compressible material such that when the compressible material is displaced air movement in the housing is detected by the sensing element.

Altimeters correct themselves by analyzing pressure data to identify underlying climatic changes and modify sensed pressures accordingly to provide corrected altitude values. The detected underlying climatic changes are used to provide a barometer function independent of altitude changes. Air pressure measured at a plurality of times is stored to provide historical pressure data. A reference pressure is modified in dependence on historical data to produce a modified reference pressure. An altitude value is obtained from the current air pressure value and the modified reference pressure and stored.

Self-correcting barometer and/or altimeter

Altimeters correct themselves by analysing pressure data to identify underlying climatic changes and modify sensed pressures accordingly to provide corrected altitude values. The detected underlying climatic changes are used to provide a barometer function independent of altitude changes. The climatic changes can be tropical or temperate. Various locations can be stored in the altimeter. A plot of the modified pressures can be displayed.

Correction of altimeters

A mobile electronic apparatus including a memory and a system for prioritizing the user stored files in the memory relative to one another. The memory includes user stored files therein. Each user stored file has more than one different prioritization parameter associated therewith. The system for prioritizing the user stored files in the memory relative to one another includes a system for prioritizing the user stored files relative to each other based upon at least two of the different prioritization parameters.
