A multiplexed lateral flow device includes an impermeable internal reservoir having an opening to receive a sample deposition. A fluid distributor pad is arranged in fluid communication with a lower surface of the internal reservoir. The fluid distributor pad includes a paper based microfluidic element having a pattern of a hydrophobic material to distribute a portion of the sample deposition substantially equally among a plurality of flow paths. Lateral flow assays having a plurality of flow lines are aligned with flow paths of the distributor pad. An impermeable top cover has a first window arranged over the opening of the internal reservoir, and at least a second window arranged over the test results of the lateral flow assays. A housing element houses the reservoir, the distributor pad and lateral flow assays. The housing element includes an impermeable bottom cover and a spacer element arranged between the top and bottom covers and, provides a gap between the lateral flow assays and the impermeable top cover.

Multiplexed lateral flow assay device

An approach is provided to authenticate objects based on surface patterns on the object. In the approach, a pressure pattern is measured between a sensor array surface of a pressure mapping sensor array accessible by the processor and one of the object's surfaces. A set of characteristics of the object surface is extracted based on the pressure pattern resulting from the measuring. These characteristics are compared to a set of expected characteristics with the object being authenticated based on the comparison.

Multi-factor authentication and security

A validation method applied to sensor data prior to submitting to a blockchain, a computer program product, and a system for validating chemical data. One embodiment may comprise receiving a sensor captured result at an application, applying the sensor captured result to a domain-specific statistical model of expected range of variability of measured results to extract a distribution of expected sensor values, computing a confidence value in the sensor captured result using the domain-specific statistical model, validating the confidence value against a required threshold of confidence, and submitting the sensor captured result for appending to the blockchain if the confidence level is validated against the threshold of confidence.

Validating test results using a blockchain network

Method, apparatus, and computer program product are provided for anonymized diagnosis using lateral flow assays. In some embodiments, a test card includes one or more lateral flow assay (LFA) with one or more test patterns (e.g., full line, partial line, dot), one or more dummy patterns, and one or more control patterns. To visually encode LFA results, at manufacture, one or more lines/dots containing true results of the LFA(s) each has a position mixed with other 'dummy' lines/dots, in randomized position patterns selected from among a plurality of possible position patterns. An optical machine-readable representation of data (e.g., QR code) is attached to the test card and encodes test card identification information (e.g., lot number, serial number, test type) associated with the test card. In some embodiments, a passcode card having a scrapeable coating that conceals a passcode associated with the test card is removably attached to the test card.

Anonymized diagnosis via lateral flow assays

A multiplexed testing strip testing device includes a hydrophobic paper-based strip housing element configured for placement of one or more testing strips. One or more alignment markers on the hydrophobic paper-based housing element are marked to facilitate placement of the one or more testing strips. A cover element is arranged above the strip housing element and includes a machine-readable test identifier on an upper surface. A removably attached filtering element is arranged on the hydrophobic paper-based strip housing element.

Multiplexed testing strip device

An assembly is provided for interfacing with a microfluidic chip having at least one microscopic channel configured to receive a liquid sample for analysis. The assembly includes a chip carrier, an electronics module, an optical module, and a mechanical module. The chip carrier includes a base and a cover defining a cavity to receive the microfluidic chip. The electronics module includes a signal generator which applies at least one electrokinetic signal electrode(s) of the chip. The optical module includes an excitation radiation source which causes excitation radiation to impinge on the sample, and an emission radiation detector which detects radiation emitted from the sample. The mechanical module includes a chip-carrier receiving structure, relatable with respect to the optical module for focus and at least one degree of translational freedom.

Operation of diagnostic devices involving microchannels and electrodes

Devices and methods for controlling collection of liquid sample are described. In an example, a microfluidic device can include an analytical device and an actuator. The actuator can be connected to the analytical device. The actuator can be operable to absorb fluid. The actuator can guide the absorbed fluid to an input layer of the analytical device. The actuator can deform in response to an occurrence of an absorption condition. A degree of deformation of the actuator indicates a volume of fluid collected by the analytical device.

Precise fluid input control for point-of-care devices

A multiplexed lateral flow assay device includes an impermeable internal reservoir having an opening to receive a sample deposition. A fluid distributor pad is arranged in fluid communication with a lower surface of the internal reservoir and divides a portion of the sample deposition substantially equally among a plurality of flow paths. Lateral flow assays having a plurality of flow lines are aligned with flow paths of the distributor pad. An impermeable paper top cover has a first window arranged over the opening of the internal reservoir, and at least a second window arranged over the test results of the lateral flow assays. A housing element houses the reservoir, the distributor pad and lateral flow assays. The housing element includes an impermeable bottom cover and a spacer element arranged between the top and bottom covers and, provides a gap between the lateral flow assays and the impermeable paper top cover.

An embodiment includes a sample receiving region, a first diagnostic element that includes one or more colorimetric analysis regions, and a second diagnostic element that includes one or more lateral flow assay analysis regions. The embodiment also includes a first flow path that allows a portion of a liquid deposited at the sample receiving region to flow to the first diagnostic element. The embodiment also includes a second flow path that allows a portion of the liquid deposited at the sample receiving region to flow to the second diagnostic element.

Rapid test device having multiple heterogeneous diagnostic methods

A rapid test device includes a micropad chip configured for a multi-parameter chemical testing of an input sample. A plurality of paper layers of the micropad chip are in fluid communication, including a sample absorption element, a filtering element configured to filter the input sample, and a sample distribution element configured to distribute the input sample received from the filtering element to a remainder of the plurality of paper layers. One or more reacting elements associated with the multi-parameter chemical testing of the input sample have one or more colorimetric reagents in fluid communication with the sample distribution element. A colorimetric result displaying element in fluid communication with the one or more reacting elements is configured to display a colorimetric result of the testing of the input sample with the at least one reacting element for a respective chemical test of the multi-parameter chemical testing.

Rapid testing device for wastewater analysis

Fabricating a fluid testing device includes receiving a substrate, and applying a pattern of hydrophobic material to the substrate. The substrate is positioned between layers of a thermally reflective material. Heat and pressure is applied to the substrate and thermally reflective material to reflow the pattern of hydrophobic material. A protective coating is applied over a portion of the substrate to form the fluid testing device.

Fabrication of paper-based microfluidic devices

A computer-implemented method, computer program product and prototyping platform creates a design blueprint for a substrate-based microfluidic device. A design and prototyping platform receives at least one blueprint parameter and at least one constraint associated with a proposed substrate-based microfluidic device including a hydrophilic material and arrangement of a pattern of a hydrophobic material. The platform determines an arrangement of a plurality of microfluidic device elements as candidates for implementation of the proposed substrate-based microfluidic device and outputs a design blueprint of the proposed substrate-based microfluidic device.

Platform for design and prototyping of micro paper based devices

Aspects discussed herein include a computer-implemented method comprising receiving a support request from a user, and during a current support session responsive to the support request, performing textual analysis of one or more inputs provided by the user during one or both of: (i) the current support session and (ii) one or more previous support sessions. A system for manipulating electric fields within a microscopic fluid channel includes a fluid channel with an inlet and an outlet to support fluid flow, at least one controllable electric field producer that applies a non-uniform and adjustable electric field to one or more regions of the fluid channel, one or more sensors that measure one or more parameters of a fluid flowing through the fluid channel, and a controller with hardware and software components that receives signals from the one or more sensors representative of values of the one or more parameters and, based on the parameter values, drives one or more actuators to adjust the electric field produced by the plurality of electric field producers. A complex fluid including at least two components flows through the fluid channel, where at least one of the at least two components comprises particles controllable by the non-uniform and adjustable electric field.

Self-tuning system for manipulating complex fluids using electrokinectics

A product quality analysis and control system is provided. The product quality analysis and control system includes a processing system that is configured to receive data of objective qualities of a product from multiple data gathering modules. Each of the multiple data gathering modules is respectively positioned at corresponding nodes of a supply chain and is configured to receive from sensors data of objective qualities of a product when the product is at each of the corresponding nodes. The processing system includes a model repository and a data evaluation module. The data evaluation module is configured to select, from the model repository, a model associated with a type of the product and to use the model to analyze the data to identify changes in the objective qualities along the supply chain.
