The instant disclosure is directed to a composition and method for protecting a keratinous substrate from UV rays by applying onto the substrate a composition containing: (a) at least one oil phase thickening agent chosen from an activated clay; (b) at least one substantially solid form dispersing aid; (c) at least one organic sunscreen active; (d) at least one non-volatile solvent; (e) at least one volatile solvent; (f) at least one emulsifier; (g) at least one film former; and (h) water, wherein (a) and (b) are present in the composition in a ratio by weight ranging from greater than 1:10 to less than 1:4; and wherein (b) and (c) are present in the composition in a ratio by weight ranging from greater than 1:30 to less than 1:1.

Organic sunscreen composition and process for protecting skin from photodamage and aging

An organic-mineral hybrid sunscreen composition is an oil-in-water emulsion of aqueous and oil phases. The oil phase includes at least one mineral UV filter comprising Zinc oxide, a blend of organic UV filters comprising ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate, ethylhexyl salicylate, octocrylene, and homosalate, at least one oil phase solvent, and at least one surfactant and the water phase includes water; at least one water-miscible solvent, and at least one polymer, and at least one filler. The organic-mineral hybrid sunscreen composition has an SPF of at least about 30 and a critical wavelength of at least 370 nm.

Hybrid mineral and organic daily sunscreen thick cream moisturizer

A sunscreen composition is provided as a metastable oil-in-water emulsion that includes aqueous and oil phases, including a UV filter system that includes at least one of each of mineral UV filters and organic UV filters; an emulsification system that includes at least one ionic surfactant, at least one surfactant having a high HLB, and at least one surfactant having a low HLB, and at least one anionic emulsifier; and a solvent system that includes one or a combination of emollients and silicones.

The present disclosure relates to methods, compositions, and kits for treating hair. The methods entail the use of multiple compositions, which can be incorporated into kits. Methods, compositions, and kits for treating hair

The present disclosure relates to cleansing compositions, which are free of sulfates and ethoxylated surfactants. Methods for making and using the cleansing compositions are also described. The cleansing compositions include: (a) at least 3 wt. % of one or more nonionic surfactant(s) that are not fatty esters; (b) one or more fatty ester(s); (c) one or more non-ethoxylated, sulfate-free anionic surfactant(s); and (d) two or more thickening agents.
