Conveyor intake

A transfer conveyor apparatus has a horizontally oriented receiving hopper defined by walls and a floor. A transition auger slopes upward and rearward from a bottom end thereof located in a rear portion of the receiving hopper. A plurality of hopper augers extend from the front wall to the rear portion of the receiving hopper. A right hopper auger is in proximity to and parallel to the right side wall and a left hopper auger is in proximity to and parallel to the left side wall. The hopper auger shafts are parallel and spaced apart by a spacing distance substantially equal to or less than the hopper auger diameter, and an auger drive is operative to rotate the hopper augers and the transition auger.

Low profile transfer conveyor

A belt conveyor has an upward sloping tube and a hopper extending outward from the lower intake end of the tube. A belt has an upper run passing along a hopper floor of the hopper then over a top S-roller of an S-roller assembly, under a bottom S-roller thereof, and up through the tube. Resilient bottom seal strips each extend along each side of the hopper with lower edges thereof bearing against the belt adjacent to side edges of the belt and resilient top seal strips are fastened on top of the corresponding bottom seal strips such that a lower edge of each top seal strip bears against the belt beside the lower edge of the corresponding bottom seal strip. Roller seals seal edges of the S-rollers and the belt passing therethrough, and a support surface supports the belt between the bottom S-roller and the intake end of the tube.

Sealing belt conveyors against product leakage

A quick coupling apparatus for coupling a tool to a tool arm comprises a coupler member attached to the tool arm, and configured to engage a mounting bracket extending out from the tool. A wedge is mounted on the coupler member and is movable, when the coupler member and mounting bracket are engaged, from a closed position engaged in a groove on the mounting bracket to an open position where the wedge is removed from the groove. A wedge positioning mechanism selectively moves the wedge to the closed position and the open position. When the wedge moves into the groove and into the closed position, a remotely operated latch control moves a safety latch from an unlatched position to a latched position to prevent the wedge from moving toward the open position. The wedge positioning mechanism can be configured to utilize a single or double acting actuator.
