In accordance with one embodiment, a reciprocating saw includes a housing, a plunger at least partially positioned within the housing and configured to reciprocate with respect to the housing along a plunger axis, a wobble plate assembly operably connected to the plunger and a motor, a first guide rail supported by the housing and extending longitudinally along the plunger axis, and a spherical component in contact with the first guide rail, the spherical component and the first guide rail configured to inhibit rotation of the wobble plate assembly.

A dust extraction system for a power tool having a output shaft, a collet configured for engaging a tool bit and a collet nut engageable to the output shaft, comprises a base configured for mounting on the power tool, the base defining a cavity having an opening for passage of the output shaft therethrough and a discharge chute in communication with the cavity. The system further includes an impeller sized and configured to be rotatably received within the cavity, including a hub and a plurality of vanes emanating from the hub configured to draw dust from the workpiece into the cavity and to direct the dust through the discharge chute. A collet nut is integrated into the hub of the impeller so that the impeller can be directly mounted to the output shaft of the power tool while clamping the collet onto the tool bit.

A tool holder is secured to the end portion of the output shaft which is configured to releasably retain an accessory tool. The power tool includes an accessory change tool having a driver portion and a handle portion. The driver portion is used to install and remove the accessory change tool from the tool holder. The handle portion and the driver portion are configured to pivot into a folded position at which the handle portion is located adjacent the driver portion. A retainer assembly is incorporated into the housing that is configured to releasably retain the accessory change tool on the housing with the accessory change tool in the folded configuration.

An oscillating drive for a power tool includes a wobble shaft located on a drive shaft of a motor for a power tool, and a wobble member rotatably supported on the wobble shaft. The wobble member includes a wobble drive structure that defines a drive axis. A tool driver includes a tool drive structure at one end that is coupled to the wobble drive structure and a tool holder configured to releasably retain an accessory tool. Rotation of the drive shaft causes the wobble shaft to wobble about an axis of the drive shaft. The tool driver holds the wobble member against the rotation of the wobble shaft such that the wobble member wobbles without rotating which results in an oscillating motion of the drive axis of the wobble member in a plane that is parallel to the axis of the drive shaft. The oscillating motion of the drive axis causes the tool driver to oscillate.

A saw and guide apparatus includes a saw assembly and a cutting guide. The saw assembly includes (i) a drive member configured to be moved in a repeating pattern, (ii) a motor configured to move the drive member in the repeating pattern, (iii) a housing defining an interior space in which the motor is positioned, (iv) a foot including a base defining a cutting member opening therein, the base further defining a lower base surface, (v) a cutting member secured to the drive member so that the cutting member extends through the cutting member opening, and (vi) a guard attached to the housing and defining a cutting wheel space in which the cutting wheel is at least partially positioned. The cutting guide includes (i) a first saw support defining a first saw contact surface and a first workpiece contact surface, and (ii) a second saw support defining a second saw contact surface and a second workpiece contact surface, the first workpiece contact surface being spaced apart from the second workpiece contact surface so as to define a window therebetween. The foot is configured such that, if the following conditions exist: (i) the lower base surface is positioned in contact with the first saw contact surface, and (ii) the guard is positioned in contact with the second saw contact surface, then the cutting member extends through the window and the base is spaced apart from the window.

The motor is located in the housing and includes a motor shaft configured for rotation relative to the housing. The first bevel gear is operably connected to the motor shaft for rotation with the motor shaft. In one embodiment, a reciprocating tool includes an elongated spindle configured to reciprocate along its lengthwise axis, a wobble drive mechanism operably connected to the elongated spindle, an elongated rocker assembly having an upper end portion operably connected to the spindle, a lower end portion, and a pivot located between the upper and lower end portions, and a counterweight operably connected to the lower end portion, such that as the elongated spindle reciprocates along its lengthwise axis, the counterweight is driven by the elongated rocker assembly to reciprocate along the axis.
