A process for converting naphtha to predominantly ethane comprising contacting a naphtha stream with a zeolitic catalyst comprising a noble metal and hydrogen to produce a light paraffin stream comprising ethane and propane; wherein the catalyst comprises at least about 0.005 wt % noble metal at a ratio of hydrogen to hydrocarbon of less than about 5. In a predominantly propane mode, the catalyst comprises about 0.005 wt % noble metal and operates at a reaction temperature of no more than about 450° C. The process can be switched between modes depending on the desires of the operator.

Process for catalytically converting naphtha to light olefins with predominant modes

A process for converting naphtha to light olefins comprises contacting a naphtha stream with a zeolitic catalyst to produce a light paraffin stream at conditions which dehydrogenate the naphtha to olefins, interconvert the olefins to lighter olefins and hydrogenate the lighter olefins to produce a light paraffin stream comprising ethane and propane. The catalyst may comprise a zeolite and a metal.

Process for catalytically converting naphtha to light olefins

A family of crystalline aluminosilicate zeolites has been synthesized that is a layered pentasil zeolite. These zeolites are represented by the empirical formula:MRAlESiOwhere M is an alkali, alkaline earth, or rare earth metal such as sodium or strontium, R can be a mixture of organoammonium cations and E is a framework element such as gallium, iron, boron, or indium. These zeolites are characterized by unique x-ray diffraction patterns and compositions and have catalytic properties for carrying out various hydrocarbon conversion processes.

High surface area pentasil zeolite and process for making same

An improved MFI zeolite having low aluminum occupation at intersection sites characterized by an ortho-xylene to para-xylene uptake ratio of 0.1 to about 0.55. Processes for converting hydrocarbon or oxygenate to a product comprising light olefins and/or aromatics using the improved MFI zeolite as catalyst are also disclosed. Para-xylene in the product may be greater than about 24% of the xylenes.

MFI zeolite and its uses for production of light olefins and/or aromatics

A modified UZM-14 zeolite is described. The modified UZM-14 zeolite has a Modification Factor of 6 or more. The modified UZM-14 zeolite may have one or more of: a Si/Alratio of 14 to 30; a total pore volume in a range of 0.5 to 1.0 cc/g; at least 5% of a total pore volume being mesopores having a diameter of 10 nm of less; a cumulative pore volume of micropores and mesopores having a diameter of 100 &#x212b; or less of 0.25 cc/g or more; or a Collidine IR Bronsted acid site distribution greater than or equal to an area of 3/mg for a peak in a range of 1575 to 1700 cmafter desorption at 150&#xb0; C. Processes of making the modified UZM-14 zeolite and transalkylation processes using the modified UZM-14 zeolite are also described.

A method of making highly an active mixed transition metal oxide material has been developed. The method may include sulfiding the metal oxide material to generate metal sulfides which are used as catalyst in a conversion process such as hydroprocessing. The hydroprocessing may include hydrodenitrification, hydrodesulfurization, hydrodemetallation, hydrodesilication, hydrodearomatization, hydroisomerization, hydrotreating, hydrofining, and hydrocracking.

Method of making highly active metal oxide and metal sulfide materials

A highly active mixed transition metal oxide material has been developed. The material may be sulfided to generate metal sulfides which are used as a catalyst in a conversion process such as hydroprocessing. The hydroprocessing may include hydrodenitrification, hydrodesulfurization, hydrodemetallation, hydrodesilication, hydrodearomatization, hydroisomerization, hydrotreating, hydrofining, and hydrocracking.

Ammonia-free synthesis for Al or Si based multimetallic materials

This present disclosure relates to processes for methylation of aromatics in an aromatics complex for producing a xylene isomer product. More specifically, the present disclosure relates to a process for producing para-xylene by the selective methylation of toluene and/or benzene in an aromatics complex using mild reaction conditions, namely a combination of low temperatures and elevated pressures using a zeolite with lower number of external acid sites.

A catalyst suitable for the conversion of aromatic hydrocarbons is described. The catalyst comprises UZM-54 zeolite; a mordenite zeolite; a binder comprising alumina, silica, or combinations, thereof; and a metal selected from one or more of: Groups VIB(6) VIIB(7), VIII(8-10) and IVA(14) of the Periodic Table. A process for transalkylation using the catalyst is also described.

These metallophosphates are represented by the empirical formula of:RAMEPOwhere A is an alkali metal cation, R is at least one quaternary organoammonium cation, M is a divalent metal such as zinc and E is a trivalent framework element such as aluminum or gallium. This family of high charge density metallophosphate materials are among the first metalloalumino(gallo)phosphate-type molecular sieves to be stabilized by combinations of alkali and quaternary organoammonium cations, enabling unique compositions. This family of high charge density metallophosphate molecular sieves has catalytic properties for carrying out various hydrocarbon conversion processes and separation properties for separating at least one component.

Highly active trimetallic materials using short-chain alkyl quaternary ammonium compounds

The subject invention is a novel UZM-63 material which comprises globular aggregates of crystallites having a DDR framework type with a mesopore volume of at least 0.025 cc/g, the nanocrystals having an average diameter of less than 60 nm. The novel UZM-63 material is useful for hydrocarbon conversion processes as well as separation applications, particularly the separation of olefins from paraffins.

The PST-17 family of molecular sieves are stabilized by combinations of alkali and organoammonium cations, enabling unique metalloalumino(gallo)phosphate compositions and exhibit the BPH topology. The PST-17 family of molecular sieves has catalytic properties for carrying out various hydrocarbon conversion processes and separation properties for separating at least one component.
