Various embodiments disclosed relate to proppant including a swellable coating thereon for treatment of subterranean formations. In various embodiments, the present invention provides a method of treating a subterranean formation. The method includes placing in the subterranean formation a proppant including a coating thereon. The coating is swellable with aqueous medium in response to a trigger including acidic pH, CO, HS, or a combination thereof.

Of the methods provided herein, is a method comprising: providing a treatment fluid comprising an aqueous base fluid, an inorganic oxidizer and an activator selected from the group consisting of N-acyl caprolactam based activators, substitutes benzoyl caprolactam based activators and mixtures thereof are provided; and preparing the treatment fluid for use in a down-hole operation, where the down-hole operation is either a gel breaking operation or a formation conditioning operation.

A consolidation treatment method may include introducing a permeability modifier into a subterranean formation comprising zones of heterogeneous permeability; introducing a treatment fluid into the subterranean formation subsequent to the permeability modifier, wherein the permeability modifier at least partially diverts the treatment fluid in the subterranean formation such that treatment of the subterranean formation with the treatment fluid is more uniform, and wherein the permeability modifier has a higher viscosity than the treatment fluid; and consolidating one or more zones of the subterranean formation.
