A method by a wireless device to extend communication range when operating in a 6 Gigahertz (GHz) band of a wireless network is described. The method includes generating a physical layer protocol data unit (PPDU) that includes a preamble portion and a data portion that includes first data and transmitting the PPDU through a wireless medium on a transmission channel that is subdivided into a plurality of resource units (RUs), wherein the first data is duplicated in the data portion in a frequency domain in units of RUs.

Extending communication range of wireless devices operating in a 6 gigahertz band

A method is performed by a wireless device. The method comprises receiving a predetermined number N of Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) symbols of a PHY Protocol Data Unit (PPDU), determining, using the Nth received OFDM symbol, whether the PPDU is a PPDU according to a first wireless network standard or a PPDU according to a second wireless network standard, and decoding the PPDU according to the determined wireless network standard. The predetermined number N corresponds to either a location of a Legacy Signal (L-SIG) field in the PPDU or the location of a symbol of a second field of the second wireless network standard in the PPDU, the second field being different from the L-SIG field. The first and second wireless network standards may each be a Vehicle to Everything standard or an Intelligent Transportation System standard, and may be different from each other.

A method for calibrating a radio frequency (RF) transmitter to compensate for a frequency-dependent in-phase quadrature (FDIQ) mismatch is disclosed. The method may include determining in-phase quadrature (IQ) amplitude and phase mismatches of the RF transmitter for a lower side band (LSB) and an upper side band (USB), determining a FDIQ mismatch based on linear fitting the IQ amplitude and phase mismatches for the LSB and the USB, modifying the FDIQ mismatch based on flipping a FDIQ phase mismatch in the LSB and flipping a FDIQ phase mismatch in the USB to generate a modified FDIQ mismatch, determining Fourier coefficients based on applying an inverse fast Fourier transform to the modified FDIQ mismatch, and determining FIR coefficients for a finite impulse response (FIR) filter of the RF transmitter based on windowing the Fourier coefficients.

Frequency-dependent IQ mismatch calibration for radio frequency (RF) transmitters

A method is described for a wireless device, which includes determining padding for a sub-physical layer (PHY) protocol data unit (sub-PPDU) in an aggregated PPDU (APPDU). The method includes generating the sub-PPDU that includes a preamble portion and a data portion, determining a longest sub-PPDU for the APPDU to be transmitted, determining an amount and type of padding for the sub-PPDU where the sub-PPDU in not the longest sub-PPDU in the APPDU, adding padding to the sub-PPDU to align the end of the sub-PPDU with the end of the longest sub-PPUD, and transmitting the sub-PPDU through a wireless medium on a transmission channel to a receiving device as part of the APPDU.

Padding method for aggregated PPDU in enhancement of IEEE 802.11AX

A method is described for communicating in a network. The method includes setting a type bit in a frame to indicate whether the frame is scheduling an uplink transmission for only a first set of stations in the wireless network or the first set of stations and a second set of stations in the wireless network and transmitting the frame to (1) all stations in the first set of stations when the type bit indicates that the trigger frame is scheduling the uplink transmission for the first set of stations and (2) all stations in the second set of stations when the type bit indicates that the trigger frame is scheduling the uplink transmission for the first set of stations and the second set of stations.

Signaling method for multiplexing different amendment devices in an enhanced wireless local area network

A method performed by a wireless device functioning as a beamformee station in a wireless network to perform a sounding procedure. The method includes wirelessly receiving a null data packet (NDP) announcement frame from a beamformer station, wherein the NDP announcement frame includes an indication of whether the beamformee station should acknowledge the NDP announcement frame and responsive to determining that the NDP announcement frame includes an indication that the beamformee station should acknowledge the NDP announcement frame, wirelessly transmitting an acknowledgement frame for the NDP announcement frame to the beamformer station.

A method for encoding a bitstream is described. The method includes receiving, by an error correction unit, the bitstream; performing, by the error correction unit, encoding on the bitstream to generate an encoded bit stream that includes the bitstream and parity bits; processing, by a constellation unit, the encoded bitstream to generate constellation points in one or more encoded streams; determining, by a low-density parity-check (LDPC) tone mapper, a distance between subcarriers in an Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) symbol of the frame; and performing, by the LDPC tone mapper, LDPC tone mapping based on the one or more encoded streams and on the determined distance to generate a permuted stream of complex numbers, wherein the distance between subcarriers is determined to be either (1) 18 for a first resource unit size used in the frame and (2) 20 for a second resource unit size used in the frame.

A method by a wireless device functioning as a beamformer station in a wireless network to perform a sounding procedure. The method includes generating a NDPA frame, wherein the NDPA frame includes a sounding dialog token field, wherein bit Bof the sounding dialog token field is set to binary '1' and bit Bof the sounding dialog token field is set to binary '1' to indicate that the NDPA frame is an extremely high throughput (EHT) NDPA frame and wirelessly transmitting the NDPA frame to one or more beamformee stations. The NDPA frame may include an indication of whether a beamformee station should acknowledge the NDP announcement frame or not. The NDPA frame may be transmitted in a first frequency band, while a beamformed data frame is transmitted in a second frequency band that is a higher frequency band than the first frequency band.

A method is described for transmitting a frame in a wireless network. The method includes setting, by a wireless device, a first field of the frame according to a first characteristic of the frame; setting, by the wireless device, a second field of the frame according to a second characteristic of the frame; setting, by the wireless device, a puncturing field of the frame in response to the first field of the frame meeting a first criteria and the second field of the frame meeting a second criteria, wherein the puncturing field is associated with puncturing a set of sub-channels of a transmission bandwidth of the frame; and transmitting, by the wireless device, the frame based on the transmission bandwidth and according to the set of sub-channels.

A method for encoding a bitstream for a frame in a wireless transmission is described. The method includes receiving, by an error correction unit of the wireless device, the bitstream; performing, by the error correction unit, forward error correction on the bitstream to generate an error corrected bitstream; determining, by a dual sub-carrier modulation (DCM) mapper of the first wireless device, a number of data subcarriers for modulating the error corrected bitstream to subcarriers in each half of an orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) symbol, wherein the number of data subcarriers is determined to be (1) 26 for a first bandwidth of the frame, (2) 54 for a second bandwidth and performing, by the DCM mapper, DCM on the error corrected bitstream based on the determined number of data subcarriers to generate a stream of complex numbers corresponding to the number of data subcarriers.

A process for receiving a Physical Layer Protocol Data Unit (PPDU) may include receiving a first portion of the PPDU. The first portion including a Legacy Signal (L-SIG) field and a second signal field that is received after the reception of the L-SIG field. The process further includes decoding, using first information in the L-SIG field, the second signal field, and determining, using second information included in the second signal field, that the PPDU includes midambles. In response to determining that the PPDU includes midambles, the process determines, using a midamble periodicity M, a number of midambles NMA in the PPDU, determines, using the number of midambles, a number of data symbols in a data field of the PPDU, and processes, using the number of midambles and the number of data symbols, the data field of the PPDU. The process may be performed by a wireless device.
