Spatial-temporal compression of sensing data from a plurality of sensors involves using a plurality of sensors to obtain measured physical data associated with a plurality of sensed elements. At each of a plurality of sampling times a set of N sampled data is acquired from the N sensed elements corresponding to the measured physical data. The sets of sampled data are analyzed to obtain statistical characteristic information. Thereafter, one or more frames of compressed data is generated using the statistical characteristic information to facilitate temporal and spatial data compression.

A method and apparatus is provided the battery sensor for a large-scale battery system. More specifically, the present disclosure relates to the architecture and measurement scheme for a high-accuracy battery voltage sensor based on a calibration scheme. The present disclosure also related to the architecture and measurement method for a cell-level current sensor to effectively and reliably manage a battery pack.

Battery sensing method and apparatus

Method for data communication involves receiving with a radio receiver a data signal containing a plurality of data symbols. An analog to digital converter obtain a sample of the data signal at periodic intervals to define a sampling rate which is N times a symbol rate. Thereafter, at least one processing device allocates each sample obtained to a respective one of N sampled data streams in accordance with an allocation sequence, and repeats the allocation sequence after every N samples so that each of the N sampled data streams has a data stream symbol rate equal to the symbol rate. Thereafter, a plurality of data stream data sets defined by the N sampled data streams are validated. Once the validation is completed, a plurality of groups are determined, each comprised of two or more of the stream data sets which have been validated and are identical.

A Wireless battery area network permits the wirelessly monitoring and controlling of individual batteries within large-scale battery applications. The system automatically configures its wireless nodes in the network and provides for the linking of a plurality of batteries () to a master battery management unit (M-BMU) () by establishing a wireless battery area network within a battery pack that include slave units (S-BMU) (). The entire system may also be controlled by a top level battery management unit (T-BMU) (). The system and method allows for the monitoring of voltage, current, temperature, or impedance of individual batteries and for the balancing or bypassing of a battery.

In an inventive photonic analog-to-digital signal converter (ADC), multiple opto-electric sampling devices are employed to successively sample an analog signal input. Optical clock signals having the same frequency but different clock phases are used, which are associated with the opto-electric sampling devices, respectively. Each sampling device takes samples of the analog signal input in response to the optical clock signal associated therewith. The resulting samples are processed to produce quantized samples. The inventive ADC outputs a digital signal representing the quantized samples.

Technique for photonic analog-to-digital signal conversion

An apparatus includes an electronic amplifier and an electrical feedback line, a plurality of electrical sources, and an electronic controller. The electrical feedback line connects an output of the electronic amplifier to an input thereof. The electrical sources connect to nodes on the electronic feedback line. The electronic controller is configured to adjust the electrical sources in a manner responsive to a current input to the electrical feedback line.

One apparatus includes an array of current sources, a digital memory, and a calibration circuit. Self-calibrating current source arrays

The present invention provides for background calibration of a time-interleaved analog-to-digital converter (TIADC). In one embodiment, a background calibrator includes a TIADC having a parallel array of time-interleaved main signal processors, each main signal processor including an ADC connected to a corresponding output FIR filter. The background calibrator also includes an auxiliary signal processor having an ADC connected to at least one corresponding output FIR filter. Additionally, the background calibrator further includes a timing calibration circuit, wherein the timing calibration circuit is configured to select one of the main signal processors, exchange the auxiliary signal processor with the selected main signal processor in the TIADC and connect the selected main signal processor to the timing calibration circuit. In an alternative embodiment, the timing calibration circuit is further configured to reduce a timing mismatch of the selected main signal processor.

Digital background calibration for time-interlaced analog-to-digital converters

An apparatus includes a delta-sigma analog-to-digital converter for digitalizing an analog input signal. The &#x394;-&#x3a3; ADC includes an analog band-pass loop filter configured to filter an analog signal derived from the analog input signal and a quantizer configured to produce a series of digital signals by sampling the filtered analog signal from the loop filter at a sampling frequency. The loop filter has a center band-pass frequency. The series of digital signals has a data-carrying frequency spectrum that is a mirror image of a data-carrying frequency spectrum of the analog input signal. The data-carrying frequency spectrum of the series is located between the center band-pass frequency and zero.
