The image sensor may provide, in a first mode, to the at least one processor, first image data may be obtained by outputting data input to a unit pixel of the image sensor with a first conversion gain, the first image data may have a first number of bits. The image sensor may provide, in a second mode, to the at least one processor, second image data may be obtained by outputting data input to the unit pixel of the image sensor with the first conversion gain and a second conversion gain. The second conversion gain may be lower than the first conversion gain. The second image data may have a second number of bits which may be larger than the first number of bits.

A method and an electronic device are provided in which, in a first unit pixel of an image sensor, a first analog-to-digital conversion (ADC) is performed by reading out a first photodiode (PD) group and a second PD group that is adjacent to the first PD group in a first direction. A second ADC is performed by reading out a third PD group that is adjacent to the first PD group in a second direction. The second direction is perpendicular to the first direction. A third ADC is performed by reading out a fourth PD group that is adjacent to the second PD group in the second direction. A first phase difference in the second direction is detected based on the first ADC, the second ADC, and the third ADC. A second phase difference in the first direction is detected based on the second ADC and the third ADC.

The display may be divided into a display region and a sensor region when facing the front surface. The display may include: a light-emitting/light-receiving layer including light-emitting diodes disposed in the display region and at least one photodiode disposed in the sensor region; and a filter layer placed between the front cover and the light-emitting/light-receiving layer and including light-emitting filters aligned with the light-emitting diodes in the display region, and at least one light-receiving filter aligned with the at least one photodiode in the sensor region.
