An interactive electronic device shell and light source may enable personalization and increased functionality of an electronic device. The shell may at least partially cover a light source and attach to an electronic device. The shell includes at least some transparent or translucent portions (e.g., light stencils) that enable light from a matrix of the light source to emit through the shell, thus causing a display of light from the shell. In some aspects, the electronic device may be linked with the shell and/or the light source to control light emission through the shell. In various aspects, an illumined portion of the shell may have significance, such as revealing an artistic design or indicating a message based on activity of the electronic device.

In some aspects, a telecommunications device obtains an identifier from an accessory token. The telecommunications device may transmit the identifier to a server to request content associated with the identifier. The telecommunications device may receive the content from the server when the identifier is valid and/or the content is available. In various aspects, the accessory token is communicatively coupled to the telecommunications device, which enables the telecommunications device to obtain the identifier.

Serum-Plasma separator and transfer apparatus comprising a tube and a hollow stopper-like member fitted into the open end of the tube. The top end of the stopper is of a flexible material with a weight positioned thereon. A rigid capillary tube with one end in the hollow stopper and the other end joined with a flexible capillary tube which, in turn, has its other end attached to a weighted filter. The capillary tube has a port in its side wall at the lower end adjacent the filter. As the serum is centrifuged the weighted filter drops into the tube causing the sample liquid to pass through the filter into the upper portion of the tube. At the same time the weight of the filter forces the flexible capillary tube to extend downwardly thereby opening the port in the capillary tube into the liquid sample. As the centrifuging action slows down, the weight on the stopper tend to return to its normal position. In this way a sucking action forces the liquid through the port into the capillary tube and then into the hollow stopper. The serum is then transferred without exposure.

Serum-plasma separator and transfer apparatus

This invention is an apparatus for the separation of liquid such as serum or plasma from centrifugated solid particles such as red cells, and for the separation of the liquid into containers for use in an auto-analyzer, and/or storage as well as preservation and distribution of the remainder of the separated liquid samples into other containers. A single component device is utilized for the separation and distribution of the upper layer of the liquid prepared by centrifugal motion. The apparatus comprises a flexible tubing, a stopper and a capillary tube passing through the system. There is provided the means for the storage of the remainder of liquid, after the adequate amount of samples are obtained and placed in containers for use in an auto-analyzer, and for the easy distribution or transfer of the liquid in the main tube, into other tubes or containers without the need of other apparatus. Several embodiments are illustrated.
