A display device includes a plurality of pixels, a power supply, a voltmeter, and a timing controller. The power supply is configured to generate an initialization voltage to be supplied to a sensing pixel among the pixels. The voltmeter is configured to measure a first value of the initialization voltage supplied to the sensing pixel during an active period of a frame period and a second value of the initialization voltage supplied to the sensing pixel during a vertical blank period of the frame period. The timing controller is configured to generate rewrite image data that is supplied to the sensing pixel during the vertical blank period. The rewrite image data is generated from image data applied to the pixels during the active period and a difference between the first and second values.

Display device

A display apparatus includes a display panel, a driving controller, a gate driver and a data driver. The driving controller is configured to insert a compensation image to first image data including a normal image to generate second image data. The gate driver is configured to shift an output time of a gate signal and to output the gate signal having a shifted output time to the display panel. The data driver is configured to generate a data voltage based on the second image data and to output the data voltage to the display panel. A gate shift amount when the compensation image is applied is substantially the same as a gate shift amount immediately before the compensation image is applied.

Display apparatus and method of driving display panel using the same

In a display device, each of pixels includes a light emitting element and a pixel circuit which is connected to the light emitting element at a first node and drives the light emitting element in response to a corresponding driving scan signal among driving scan signals during a display period. The pixel circuit is connected to a corresponding readout line among readout lines at a second node. The sensing circuit senses a potential of the first node through the corresponding readout line during a blank period, and each of frames includes the display period and the blank period. At least two driving scan signals among the driving scan signals respectively include a plurality of rewriting periods, each of which is activated during the blank period corresponding thereto, and the rewriting periods of the driving scan signals have different durations from each other.

A display device includes a display panel, controller configured to generate a second data enable signal and second image data based on a first data enable signal and first image data, and generate an output data enable signal and output image data by performing a black data insertion operation, and data driver configured to provide data signals based on the output data enable signal and the output image data, where the controller obtains a delay time between the first data enable signal and the second data enable signal or the first image data and the second image data, determines a number of subsequent pulses of the output data enable signal during a period from one time point within a frame period to an end time point of the frame period, and adjusts a cycle of the subsequent pulses based on the delay time and the number of the subsequent pulses.

Display device, and method of operating a display device

A display device includes a processor which supplies grayscale data in active periods of frame periods and stops supply of the grayscale data in blank periods of the frame periods, a timing controller which generates a change signal when a difference between a first blank period of a first frame period and a second blank period of a second frame period is greater than a threshold value, a power supply which supplies a first power voltage having a voltage level changed based on the change signal to a first power line, and pixels commonly connected to the first power line.

A display device includes a display panel, a first memory, and a degradation compensator. The first memory device stores stress data including degradation values representing a degradation degree of each of the blocks in the display panel. The degradation compensator loads the stress data from the first memory device, updates the stress data based on current input data and a maximum degradation value, updates the maximum degradation value based on degradation values included in the updated stress data, and generate compensated data by compensating for the current input data based on the updated stress data. The degradation compensator determines whether a first degradation value included in the stress data is normal by comparing the first degradation value with the maximum degradation value, and updates the first degradation value based on at least one adjacent degradation value adjacent to the first degradation value, when the first degradation value is abnormal.

Display device and method of compensating for degradation of the display device

A power voltage generator includes a booster, a voltage sensor, a constant voltage controller and a constant current controller. The booster is configured to boost an input voltage to an output voltage based on an on-off operation of a switch. The voltage sensor is configured to generate a sensing voltage by sensing the output voltage. The constant voltage controller is configured to generate a first switching signal to control the switch by comparing the sensing voltage with a reference voltage. The constant current controller is configured to generate a gain based on a ratio of an electrode signal of the switch and a target signal by comparing the electrode signal of the switch with the target signal.

Power voltage generator and display device having the same

A driving method of a display device including a power source which supplies a power voltage to a power base line, and pixels connected to power branch lines commonly connected to the power base line, includes calculating a first scale factor based on input grayscales received during a first frame period; calculating first output grayscales by applying the first scale factor to first input grayscales received during a second frame period, where the second frame period is a frame period immediately next to the first frame period; displaying an image by at least a part of the pixels based on the first output grayscales; and providing a first current limiting signal to the power source and calculating a second scale factor smaller than the first scale factor when a current of the power base line exceeds a reference value.

Display device and driving method thereof

A display device includes pixels connected to scan lines, sensing lines, readout lines, and data lines; a scan driver including stages to supply a scan signal and a sensing signal to the scan lines and the sensing lines; a data driver which supplies a data signal to the data lines; a timing controller which divides one frame into an active period including a scan period in which the data signal is supplied to the data lines and a display period in which the pixels emit light in response to the data signal, and a blank period including a sensing period in which electrical characteristics of the pixels are detected and a reset period in which the stages are reset; and a compensator which generates a compensation value for compensating for deterioration of the pixels based on sensing values provided from the readout lines during the sensing period.

A display device and a method of driving the same are described. The display device includes: an over driver to overdrive current frame data included in input image data to output overdriving frame data; a data driver to generate a data signal for the current frame data based on the overdriving frame data; and a display panel including a plurality of pixels to receive the data signal, the over driver may calculate a temporal change rate or a spatial change rate of the input image data, and output the overdriving frame data utilizing a reference formula having a first main parameter determined according to the calculated result. Therefore, overdriving may be performed dynamically according to the spatial change rate or the temporal change rate of the input image data.
