Indication of transmission configuration indicator state switching across remote radio heads

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive a demodulation reference signal (DMRS) and perform a filtering procedure on frequency-domain symbols of the DMRS to obtain a frequency-domain noise signal associated with the frequency-domain symbols. The UE may perform a spur detection procedure on the frequency-domain noise signal to detect one or more frequency spurs associated with the frequency-domain symbols. In addition, the UE may estimate a frequency of the frequency spurs. In some implementations, the UE may transmit information indicating spur parameters associated with the frequency spurs (e.g., including the estimated frequency) to a network entity. The UE may receive a control message indicating a rate matching pattern for subsequent communications, the rate matching pattern based on the spur parameters. The UE and the network entity may communicate according to the rate matching pattern.

Spur detection, estimation, and mitigation

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive an indication of an antenna port mapping from a network entity. The antenna port mapping may be between a tracking reference signal and a corresponding reference signal, the antenna port mapping indicating a mapping of a tracking reference signal port to a plurality of reference signal antenna ports associated with the corresponding reference signal. The UE may receive a tracking reference signal via the tracking reference signal port based on the antenna port mapping. The UE may perform a channel measurement procedure using the tracking reference signal based on the mapping.

Port association with multiple demodulation reference signal (DMRS) ports

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some wireless communications systems, a user equipment (UE) and a network entity may utilize multi-port mobility reference signals to assist with spatial based mobility procedures. The UE may receive a reference signal that is associated with multiple antenna ports. The UE may measure a multi-dimensional channel response based on the reference signal. The multi-dimensional channel response may be associated with measured channel metrics corresponding to the multiple antenna ports. The UE may transmit a report that includes a channel measurement vector based on the multi-dimensional channel response. The channel measurement vector may indicate multiple measured channel metrics for one or more dimensions of the multi-dimensional channel response. The network entity may transmit a message that indicates one or more metrics associated with mobility management for the UE based on the report that indicates the channel measurement vector.

Spatial metric based mobility procedures using multi-port mobility reference signals

Method and apparatus for control signaling for SIC operation in 2-codeword operating mode. The apparatus transmits, to a network entity, a SIC capability indication comprising an indication that the UE supports a SIC operation for 2-CW allocation and an order of processing a first codeword and a second codeword. The apparatus monitors for an ACK to enable the SIC operation between the UE and the network entity. The apparatus receives downlink communication based on the SIC operation in response to receiving the ACK to enable the SIC operation. The apparatus may process the first codeword, within the downlink communication, transmitted based on a first MCS. The apparatus may cancel interference from the downlink communication based on the first codeword to obtain the second codeword, within the downlink communication, transmitted based on a second MCS.

A method for wireless communication by a network node includes transmitting a first group of frames comprising a group of normal slots and one or more first special slots. The UE may determine, based at least in part on the first energy level and the second energy level, a DMRS signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). The UE may perform, based at least in part on the DMRS SNR, channel estimation for a physical channel associated with a communication to determine an estimated channel. Techniques for demodulation reference signal based signal-to-noise ratio for demodulation processing

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may determine an actual power delay profile (PDP) associated with a channel between the UE and a base station, wherein the actual PDP indicates an averaged power level of the channel over a period of time. The UE may determine whether a channel estimation mode switching event is satisfied. The UE may switch, based at least in part on the channel estimation mode switching event being satisfied, between a first channel estimation mode based at least in part on the actual PDP and a second channel estimation mode based at least in part on a template PDP. Switching between channel estimation modes at a user equipment

Apparatus, methods, and computer program products for decoding are provided. An example method may include receiving a communication from a second network entity via a channel, where the communication is encoded based on multi-level coding associated with at least a first coding level and a second coding level, and where the first coding level is associated with a first set of bits and the second coding level is associated with a second set of bits. The example method may further include means for generating a first estimate of a first LLR associated with the first coding level, a second estimate of a second LLR associated with the second coding level, and auxiliary information including a third estimate of a third LLR based on the first set of bits and the second set of bits.

Decoding multi-level coded (MLC) systems

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive an indication of a plurality of selectable physical resource block (PRB) bundle sizes. The UE may receive downlink control information (DCI) that does not include a PRB bundling size indicator that indicates a PRB bundle size to be selected from the plurality of selectable PRB bundle sizes. The UE may select a PRB bundle size, from the plurality of selectable PRB bundle sizes, despite the DCI not including the PRB bundling size indicator. Numerous other aspects are provided.

Physical resource block bundle size selection

In an aspect of the disclosure, a method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus are provided. The apparatus maybe a base station or a user equipment (UE). In an aspect, the apparatus may determine locations for a number of Demodulation Reference Signal (DM-RS) symbols to be transmitted within a scheduling unit of a channel included in a slot or mini-slot based on a selection between a first set of predetermined DM-RS positions and a second set of predetermined DM-RS positions. The apparatus may transmit the number of DM-RS symbols in the scheduling unit based on the determined locations.

Methods and apparatus related to demodulation reference signal design and related signaling

In an aspect of the disclosure, a method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus are provided. The apparatus maybe a base station or a UE. In an aspect, the apparatus may determine locations for a number of DM-RS symbols to be transmitted in a scheduling unit of a channel configured in a slot/mini-slot, where a last DM-RS symbol maybe positioned one symbol prior to a last symbol carrying scheduled data. In another aspect, the apparatus may determine the locations for the DM-RS symbols based on a selection between a first set of predetermined DM-RS positions and a second set of predetermined DM-RS positions. In another aspect, the apparatus may determine the locations for the DM-RS symbols based on a set number of symbols, wherein the determined locations are spaced apart according to the set number of symbols. The apparatus may transmit the DM-RS symbols based on the determined locations.

A transmitter, such as a base station, identifies a potential collision between a first set of resources configured for a CORESET for a receiver and a second set of resources configured for a PT-RS for the receiver. The apparatus may determine whether colliding resources in the CORESET are configured/used for a control transmission or a data transmission. The apparatus punctures the PT-RS based on whether the colliding resources in the CORESET are configured/used for the control transmission (e.g., PDCCH). For example, the apparatus may puncture the PT-RS only for resource blocks of the CORESET colliding with the control transmission without puncturing the PT-RS over an entire set of the colliding resources configured for the CORESET. A receiver may similarly identify potential collisions and determine whether PT-RS will be punctured based on whether the colliding resources in the CORESET are configured/used for a control transmission or a data transmission.

Techniques are described for wireless communication at a wireless communication device. A determination may be made regarding the number of receive chains, of a plurality of receive chains, to enable for a channel. Power to the receive chains may be regulated based on the determined number of enabled receive chains. The determination may be based on a transmission scheduling rate for the wireless communication device and a rank for the channel. In some examples, the determination may further be based on a channel quality of the channel and/or a type of traffic scheduled for the channel.

Techniques for determining a number of receive chains to enable for a channel

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication between a first wireless device and a second wireless device are described. A second wireless device may determine that a channel condition satisfies at least one channel condition threshold. The second wireless device may identify, based on the determination, a time-interleaved transmission scheme for block(s) of encoded information. The second wireless device may transmit the block(s) of encoded information to a first wireless device in accordance with at least the time-interleaved transmission scheme. In some instances, the first wireless device may determine that the channel condition satisfies the at least one channel condition threshold and send a message to the second wireless device in order to trigger the use of the time-interleaved transmission scheme.
