A multi-touch sensing includes a voltage-current converter converting an input voltage into a current. A touch sensing block senses touch of an object. An amplifier includes a first input terminal connected to an output terminal of the voltage-current converter and to a first terminal of the touch sensing block. A second input terminal of the amplifier is grounded. An output terminal of the amplifier is connected to a second terminal of the touch sensing block.

A high speed analog transmission envelope (data-validity) detector for detecting the validity or invalidity of received data by generating (and comparing) first through fourth level-shifted signals based on a pair of differential input signals that are externally applied (received). Each of the first through fourth level-shifted signals has voltage levels different from (e.g., higher than) the differential input signals. After comparing the first through fourth level-shifted signals with each other, the comparison results are used in determining the validity of the differential input signals (data). The analog transmission envelope (data) detector flexibly adapts to variations in common mode voltage, and simplifies the circuit architecture because it does not require an additional reference voltage for determining the validity of received data.

An ambient light processing system for controlling a display device by sensing ambient light and a method using the system. The ambient light processing system includes a photo-detector, an amplification unit, an analog-to-digital converter and a controller. The photo-detector outputs a sensed signal corresponding to the luminous intensity of the ambient light. The amplification unit amplifies the sensed signal with a high amplification factor to output a first amplified signal and amplifies the sensed signal with a low amplification factor to output a second amplified signal. The analog-to-digital converter respectively converts the first amplified signal and the second amplified signal into a first digital signal and a second digital signal. The controller outputs a first control signal and a second control signal for controlling the display device in response to the first digital signal and the second digital signal.

A low voltage differential signal (LVDS) receiver includes a first receiving unit configured to receive a reference voltage and to responsively generate a first differential signal, and a second receiving unit configured to receive a voltage developed across a variable termination resistor unit having a resistance that is adjustable based on a resistance control code in response to a reference current, and to responsively generate a second differential signal. The LVDS receiver further includes a comparing unit configured to compare the first differential signal with the second differential signal and to responsively generate a counter control signal. The LVDS receiver further includes an up/down counter configured to adjust the resistance control code in response to the counter control signal. The up/down counter is further configured to provide the resistance control code to the variable termination resistor unit. Corresponding methods are also disclosed.

Disclosed is a transmission envelope detector referred to a squelch detection circuit for effectively detecting an element of transmission data in a high speed serial data transmission system. The squelch detection circuit of the invention includes a differential input level shifter, a first reference voltage generator, an amplifier, a second reference voltage generator, and a comparator. The squelch detection circuit can detect whether the transmission data is a noise or signal element even at a cross point of the transmission data, resulting in achieving stable data transmission.
