When a diagonal portion thickness at a top round is Dt', a long side portion thickness is D&#x2032;, a short side portion thickness is D&#x2032;, a diagonal portion thickness at a reference line is Dt, a long side portion thickness is D, and a short side portion thickness is D, then the glass structure of a cathode ray tube satisfies 1.3&#x2266;Dt&#x2032;/Dt&#x3c;1.80.

A color cathode ray tube including: a panel having a substantially flat outer surface and an inner surface having a curvature; a funnel coupled to the panel; a deflection yoke installed at an outer surface of the funnel; and a reinforcing band installed at a skirt portion of the panel, wherein the panel and the funnel satisfy the following condition, U/U'&#x2267;2.5, when a diagonal size of an effective surface of the panel is U, and a tube axis directional distance from an outer surface center of the panel to a boundary portion (TOR) between a body part and a yoke part of the funnel is U&#x2032;, so that in the color cathode ray tube of the present invention, a lightness and slimness of a panel can be accomplished, and in order to compensate the weak structural strength caused in this case, a reinforcing band position (h) is set in the range of 10.5 mm&#x2dc;20 mm to implement an optimum tensile force.

In a color cathode ray tube, by optimizing an outer radios of curvature, an inner radius of curvature on a corner portion, a thickness of a long side, a thickness of a short side, a thickness of the corner portion, the total length of the panel, the total length of the funnel body and the total length of a yoke portion of the funnel determining a section shape of the yoke portion of the funnel, a stress concentrated on the yoke portion can be lowered. In addition, according to the increase of an inner radius of curvature of the corner portion of the yoke portion, a crash phenomenon of an electron beam is decreased, and an impact resistance and productivity improvement in fabrication process can be secured by lowering a high stress occurrence on the funnel in vacuum.
