An optical fiber fusion splicer () includes a body (); a joining part () disposed on the top portion of the body () to join ends of two optical fibers (); a heating part () disposed on the top portion of the body to fuse a sleeve pipe () to the optical fibers, which are joined to each other; a monitor () disposed on the top portion of the body to monitor the connection state of the optical fibers; an operating part () disposed in the body to operate the joining part, the heating part () and the monitor (); and a fixing part () detachably disposed on the top surface of the body so as to be positioned on one portion of the joining part. The sleeve pipe (), which will be fused to the optical fibers (), is fitted on the fixing part ().

Optical fiber fusion splicer

A portable optical fiber processing apparatus is disclosed. The portable optical fiber processing apparatus of the present invention includes a base (), which provides a space in which components are installed, and a sheathing stripping unit (), which is provided on the base and strips sheathing from an optical fiber (R). The apparatus further includes an optical fiber cutting unit (), which is provided on the base and cuts a portion of the optical fiber, from which the sheathing has been stripped, using a sliding cutter () in a direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the optical fiber, and a welding unit (), which is provided on the base and welds junction portions of two optical fibers. The present invention is characterized in that a process of stripping sheathing from an optical fiber and cutting, cleaning and welding processes can be conducted using a single apparatus.

Portable optical-fiber processing equipment

An automatic optical-fiber cutter has a main lid, an auxiliary lid interlockingly opened and closed by the opening/closing operation of the main lid, and a slider provided with an edged tool. An optical fiber is pressed at two positions by the main lid and the auxiliary lid interlockingly closed by the closing operation of the main lid. At the same time, the slider moves synchronously with the main lid, and the optical fiber is cut by the edged tool. As soon as the auxiliary lid is opened synchronously with the opening operation of the main lid, the slider is returned to an initial position.
