An apparatus and a method for managing a push service used by an application, and a recording medium storing a program source for the method which includes, when there is a request for use of a push service from an application installed in a mobile station, determining whether another application using the push service exists, determining a message type of a message to be transmitted to a push server to make a push service registration request depending on the determination of another application using the push service, and configuring a message for a push service registration request according to a determined message type and transmitting the configured message to the push server.

Method and apparatus for managing push service

There is provided a channel estimation apparatus for estimating a radio channel environment by multiplying a currently received bit signal of a pilot signal and previously received bit signals by weights, and summing the weighted currently received bit signal and the weighted previously received bit signals in a CDMA mobile communication system receiving the pilot signal comprised of a stream of bits having given bit values, and a power control signal comprised of power control bits. In the channel estimation, a predictor predicts a next bit signal succeeding the currently received bit signal, multiplies the predicted next bit signal by a weight, and generates a weighted next bit signal. A summer sums the weighted next bit signal from the predictor, the weighted currently received bit signal and the previously received bit signals.

Channel estimation apparatus and method

A channel spreading device for a CDMA communication system is disclosed. The channel spreading device includes; a storage medium for storing orthogonal code numbers which cannot maintain an orthogonality when an orthogonal code for a maximum data rate is used; a controller for determining whether the respective orthogonal code numbers stored in the storage medium are available at a given data rate, when at least one data user requests data transmission at the given data rate, and outputting the determined available orthogonal code numbers and control signals according to the determination result; a plurality of channel transmitters, provided in association with the orthogonal code numbers from the controller, for spreading data from the data user with an orthogonal code corresponding to the orthogonal code number from the controller; and a plurality of multipliers for multiplying outputs of the channel transmitters by control signals from the controller, a plurality of channel transmission circuits; a storage medium for storing orthogonal code numbers which cannot maintain an orthogonality when an orthogonal code for a maximum data rate is used; a controller for determining whether the respective orthogonal code numbers stored in the storage medium are available at a given data rate, when at least one data user requests data transmission at the given data rate, and outputting the determined available orthogonal code numbers and control signals according to the determination result.

Apparatus and method for allocating Walsh codes in CDMA communication system having variable rate channel structure

A device for allocating a forward common channel in a CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access) communication system, including: a plurality of channel transmitters; a storage medium for storing, as orthogonal code numbers for the forward common channel used in a second CDMA communication system, orthogonal code numbers which cannot maintain an orthogonality due to an orthogonal code that the forward common channel uses at a maximum data rate, the orthogonal code being used in a first CDMA communication system; and a controller for reading the orthogonal code numbers from the storage medium according to mobile station type information from a mobile station, and allocating a specific forward common channel such that forward common channel message is spread and transmitted by a corresponding one of the channel transmitters with a specific one of the read orthogonal code numbers.

Apparatus and method for allocating forward common channels in CDMA communication system

A common packet channel assignment method and device in a CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access) communication system is disclosed. The method comprises transmitting an access preamble signal having channel information which is used to access a base station, and then receiving an; access preamble acquisition indicator signal from the base station in response to the access preamble signal. A collision detection preamble for detecting a collision is transmitted in response to the received access preamble acquisition indicator signal. A first signal indicating acquisition of the collision detection preamble and a second signal indicating channel assignment are received, both of which the base station has transmitted in response to the collision acquisition signal. Upon receipt of the first signal, a common packet channel is assigned according to information designated by the second signal.

Channel assignment apparatus and method for a common packet channel in a WCDMA mobile communication system

A power control device and method in a mobile communication system. Upon receipt of a call request, a base station selects a call type corresponding to the call request. The base station includes a memory for storing power control parameter values for every call type serviceable in the mobile communication system. The base station reads a power control parameter value corresponding to the selected call type from the memory, and provides the read power control parameter value to the mobile station to perform outer loop power control.

Power control device and method for a mobile communication system

Disclosed is a power control method for a mobile station which has at least one compressed mode frame. A compressed mode frame includes a data transmission duration where data is transmitted at a first frequency, and a data transmission-off duration where a second frequency is searched to perform an inter-frequency handoff to the second frequency. The transmission power during the data transmission duration is increased to compensate for the loss of transmission power during the data transmission-off duration. In the method, a base station sets a power control threshold depending on the length of the data transmission-off duration. The base station receives transmission power-increased data and compares the received power of the data signal with the power control threshold. The base station generates a power-up command when the power control threshold is higher than the receiving power, and generates a power-down command when the power control threshold is lower than the receiving power.
