Hydrogen generating apparatus that is capable of controlling the amount of hydrogen generation. The hydrogen generating apparatus has an electrolyzer, a first electrode, a second electrode, a switch, which is located between the first electrode and the second electrode, a flow rate meter, which measures an amount of hydrogen generation in the second electrode, and a switch controller, which receives a set value, compares the amount of hydrogen generation measured by the flow rate meter with the set value, and controls an on/off status of the switch. The amount of hydrogen generation can be controlled by use of on/off time and/or on/of frequency of the switch.

A hydrogen generating apparatus can include an absorbent layer that absorbs an aqueous solution, a metal membrane deposited on either side of the absorbent layer such that the absorbent layer is interposed between the metal membranes, and a support layer formed on one side of one of the metal membranes that transports hydrogen generated by a reaction between the aqueous solution and the metal membrane. A batch type reaction may thus be implemented between the aqueous solution and the metal membranes, so that the reaction can be controlled to provide an even rate of hydrogen generation. Possible disturbances to the reaction resulting from by-products can be prevented, and since there is no additional equipment required, the volume and weight of the fuel cell power generation system can be reduced, and the extra power consumption by the additional equipment can be avoided.

Hydrogen generating apparatus and fuel cell power generation system

A hydrogen generating apparatus and a fuel cell power generation system are disclosed. The hydrogen generating apparatus may include an electrolyte bath, which contains an electrolyte solution; a first electrode, which is stacked on a surface inside the electrolyte bath, and which generates electrons; a moisture absorption layer, which is stacked on the first electrode, and which absorbs moisture from the electrolyte solution; and a second electrode, which is stacked on the moisture absorption layer, and which generates hydrogen using the electrons and the electrolyte solution. With this apparatus, the electrodes can be formed as thin films, whereby the number of electrodes can be increased and -the gaps between electrodes can be decreased, to increase the amount of hydrogen generation. Also, the flow of electrons can be controlled, using a control unit, in accordance to the amount of hydrogen or amount of electrical power required by the fuel cell.

A hydrogen generating apparatus is disclosed. The hydrogen generating apparatus in accordance with an embodiment of the present invention includes: a first hydrogen generating unit, which has a first electrode generating hydrogen by decomposing an electrolyte aqueous solution; a second hydrogen generating unit, which has a second electrode that is placed adjacent to the first hydrogen generating unit and surface thereof is formed with a super absorbent polymer that is gelled when water is absorbed; a solution separation membrane interposed between the first hydrogen generating unit and the second hydrogen generating unit; a reactor accommodating the first hydrogen generating unit, the second hydrogen generating unit and the solution separation membrane; and a hydrogen vent being formed on one side of the reactor, which is adjacent to the second hydrogen generating unit.

A fuel cell power generation system is disclosed. The fuel cell power generation system in accordance with an embodiment of the present invention includes: a stack, which produces electrical energy by reacting hydrogen with oxygen and in which the hydrogen is supplied as fuel and the oxygen is in the air; a hydrogen tank, which supplies fuel comprising hydrogen to the stack; and a heat transfer tape, which transfers heat generated from the stack to the hydrogen tank. The fuel cell power generation system can improve the efficiency of supplying hydrogen by supplying waste heat generated from the stack to the hydrogen tank through the use of the heat transfer tape without a heat supplying device and be applied to a mobile device due to the reduced volume of the fuel cell power generation system.

A reactor cover, and a hydrogen generating apparatus and a fuel cell power generation system having the reactor cover are disclosed. The reactor cover includes a base panel; a control unit, which is coupled to one side of the base panel, and which regulates a reaction for generating the hydrogen; a circuit pattern buried in the base panel in electrical connection with the control unit; and an electrode pad formed on the other side of the base panel in electrical connection with the circuit pattern. In the reactor cover, the base panel and the control unit may be integrated, to eliminate unnecessary wiring, prevent short-circuiting, and consequently provide a reactor cover that can be fabricated and used more easily.

A hydrogen generating apparatus is disclosed, which can provide a constant amount of hydrogen regardless of its orientation. The hydrogen generating apparatus can include an electrolyte bath, which contains an electrolyte solution; a free-moving first electrode, which is positioned inside the electrolyte bath, and which generates electrons; a free-moving second electrode, which is positioned inside the electrolyte bath, and which receives the electrons to generate hydrogen; a spacer positioned between the first electrode and the second electrode; and a control unit, which is connected with the first electrode and the second electrode, to control an amount of electrons traveling from the first electrode to the second electrode.

An electrode cartridge, a hydrogen generating apparatus and a fuel cell power generation system equipped with the electrode cartridge and hydrogen generating apparatus are disclosed. The electrode cartridge can include an anode configured to generate electrons in an electrolyte solution, a cathode configured to generate hydrogen from the electrolyte solution by receiving the electrons at the anode, a liquid-gas separation membrane, which is disposed to surround the anode and the cathode, configured to separate the hydrogen from the electrolyte solution and discharge the hydrogen to the outside, and a support configured to support the liquid-gas separation membrane for preventing an expansion of the liquid-gas separation membrane. The electrode cartridge of the present invention can prevent an effect of electrolyte solution flowing backwards when generating hydrogen as well as an effect of electrolyte solution leak when moving.

A hydrogen generating apparatus and a fuel cell power generation system having the hydrogen generating apparatus are disclosed. The hydrogen generating apparatus can include an electrolyte bath configured to contain an electrolyte solution, an anode placed inside the electrolyte bath and configured to generate electrons, a cathode placed inside the electrolyte bath and configured to receive the electrons from the anode to generate hydrogen, a condensation plate disposed on a transfer path of the hydrogen such that moisture carried in the hydrogen is condensed and the hydrogen is separated, and a heat exchanger configured to cool down the condensation plate heated by the moisture carried in the hydrogen. The hydrogen generating apparatus of the present invention can increase the efficiency of hydrogen generation by removing the moisture carried in the hydrogen while generating the hydrogen and reusing the moisture circulated through the electrolyte solution.

The housing in accordance with an embodiment of the present invention includes a case, a hollow space formed in the case, a cartridge being inserted in the hollow space, the cartridge configured to generate hydrogen; and a moisture removing layer, being formed on a wall of the hollow space and including chemical hydride. The housing is capable of removing both water vapor, included in the hydrogen generated by the apparatus for generating hydrogen, and dew, condensed in the housing, and obtaining additional hydrogen by hydrolyzing the water vapor and the condensed dew.

A fluid production computation apparatus using the electromagnetic induction theory is disclosed. In accordance with an embodiment of the present invention, the fluid production computation apparatus includes a line through which a current flows according to fluid production; a magnetic sensor, measuring magnetism induced by the current; and a fluid production computation unit, computing the fluid production through magnetism measured by the magnetic sensor. The conventional flow measurement apparatus measures the flow by measuring a current or a voltage induced by magnetism formed by a fluid or by using a fluid measurement sensor. However, with the present invention, an apparatus can be miniaturized and the measurement can be precisely performed by measuring a magnetic field induced by a current flowing according to fluid production.
